and this tells us what? the opinion of the writer? if we spent most of it and brought in guys not worth the money then lost Mo fans would complain. it comes down to winning, if we were 3-1 no one would be whining but we are 1-3 so we didn't try to win this season. It is all nonsense.

champ: what is your twitter handle? that has to be the greatest twitter account out there. Please share

That shit is funny. Woody approves of the offer they made for DRC, but then had no response as to why Idzik made a last minute attempt to up the offer, while it was too late.

    Fuckin joke man.

I hate Mehta as much as the next guy, but this is spot on. They were never invested in the playoffs this year. They just weren't.

They missed on countless corners in the market, countless receivers, and sat on $20 million in cash. I understand the logic of not spending big money and rolling over money for guys like Wilkerson, but come on lol how can you sit there and say Idzik made moves that would help this team win?! Honestly, you believe that statement?

Idzik was never planning on doing anything this year. He's building through the draft? Multiple guys have been hurt, cut, and likely will never see the field.

I think its pretty clear that Idzik is cleaning house and rebuilding the team in his vision. I have no problem with that at all. If you're going to bring in a new GM, he has the right to rebuild the team how he wants. My issue is, why keep Rex? I'd say I'm reasonably confident that Rex wont survive if the Jets have a poor season (which they're shaping up to). Idzik seems to have no problem with the Jets bottoming out, he wants to see what the kids bring to the table, which is probably why all Vick questions are being deflected.

If Rex gets canned at the end of the year, why didnt they just fire him last season?

How does this prove the Jets weren't fully committed to winning? Am I missing something?

Because he's likely not getting canned.

It's extremely hard to find a good coach in this league, especially one the players love to play for. Idzik knows that and sees that Rex has the potential to be an excellent coach when talent is around him.

I don't think Rex is getting fired, even if this year is a joke. How could you? How could you fire the guy after keeping him and giving him dog shit to work with? How can you do that as a GM?

I'm honestly not sure. I'm usually not too critical of the Jets, I like to let things play out. But this is an unusual situation for sure. If Rex doesnt get fired, than I have no issue here. If that's the case, Idzik and Rex are rebuilding the team together in their vision. That is something I could get excited for.

But if Rex does get fired, than it tells me that Idzik is using him as a sacrificial lamb this season. I assume he wouldnt have wanted his guy to bomb this year and be under the NY media microscope.

Oh, make no mistake, barring a successful season, he's getting canned

I don't agree w/ that at all. I think what we saw was he didn't want to overspend and if he was it would be on a short term deal. to overpay those corners in FA made no sense unless it was on a 1 year deal. he wasn't mortgaging the future. I think the only mistake he made was not re-signing Cro. Other than that I thought we had a great FA period. the draft is another thing, to have 12 picks and so far it looks like a dud but it's early.

how often do teams go on spending sprees in the offseason then make a run? remember the hype for '11 Philly, '12 Buf, '13 Mia- those were the offseason champs in terms of spending the last 3 seasons. Not 1 made the playoffs.

I thought they were pretty much playing with house money. They probably figured they could compete for playoff spot if things broke a certain way, but 2015 is the year they would make a serious push.

That remains to be seen. Although he's improved over last year.

If that improvement continues course, we will be a playoff team in 2021

I am not. But coaches don't last 4 straight years with no playoffs. Especially when their shortcomings and miscues repeat week after week, year after year.

    Really?

He has improved by a marginal percentage in completion, interceptions, and rating. And by marginal I mean barely
