From Twitter No major news from Woody: Supports Idzik's cap management. Geno curse "unacceptable." Says Geno will be "franchise QB." #nyj

Probably to calm everybody down. You have fans chanting for Vick, Geno cursing at fans, Geno getting testy at the media, unnamed "sources" in the FO going into to full CYA mode…etc.
This, 100%. throwing big money at marginal players is just a horrible way to manage a team. we were smart not to do so
It will be fascinating to see what happens It's really going to be fascinating to see how things are handled going forward. If Geno continues to struggle and the season continues to spiral out of control, the pressure to start Vick will grow immensely. Also, if we do end up having another losing season, there will be a ton of pressure on Woody to fire Rex. It would be very hard to justify keeping a coach who has just lead the team to 4 straight non-winning, non-playoff years.
First rule of public relations in leadership : Don't call for a press conference unless you have something to say.
No, that is revisionist history at its finest. The Jets were supposed to be improved this year and possibly in the mix for a wildcard spot. Before the season started, the owner explicitly said that 8-8 wouldn't be good enough or acceptable. There is no way around the fact that this has been a disappointing start. Edit: I'll also reiterate that, if we do continue to lose, the pressure to make changes will become unbearable.
8-8? Last year we were a 5 win team that lucked into 3 wins. Woody knows this. He may be ugly but he's not stupid.
