Why don't we offer the Saints CB Kyle Wilson in a trade for WR Nick Toon. They need defense we need offense. Make it happen Jerkoff Idzik.

We should have taken a closer look at his 40-yd seizure time. Stupid scouting department.

    Pick wise yes,

But a few Card fans were impressed with Powell in preseason when he was there and was hoping he could sneak on PS...but Jets grabbed him

Conversely, Saunders really didn't do much to earn his spot, and wasn't much in preseason as well. You can find players any round.

    Nope, technically Wilson doesn't count.

I've lost all hope in Idzik in one week, his plan seems to be falling apart.

We cut Jeremiah George, and he was immediately signed to the Jags practice squad, and now Saunders too WTH?
There's gotta be something promising in these kids if other teams are jumping on them this quickly right?
It's clear Idzik is cutting these young players with upside to address needs, that SHOULD have been dealt with in the off season. And that is just unacceptable, especially when you consider the amount of draft and cap space we had this free agency/ off season. . I've already counted four major mistakes Idzik has made thus far, how many more will occur?

I still think it's early to judge idzik but this seems like an alarming disregard for the value of draft picks for someone who claims the draft is the teams lifeline. brow raising for sure ... hopefully there is more info on this we don't know yet.

Great point. All we hear about is how badly he wants to build through the draft and that he isn't a big free agent spender. Well if you aren't going to sign big free agents and you're going to blatantly disregard your draft choices before even giving them a chance to prove themselves, where the hell do you expect to get quality players from?

Jalen Saunders signs with another team's practice squad.

George was on our practice squad and signed by the Jags to their active roster.

Don't worry, he'll be cut soon and signed to the Patriots practice squad.

I didn't realize that, but still it's never a good sign when mulitple middle round draft picks are being cut everyday.

Something went on that we don't know about...... That's the only logical explanation for giving up on Saunders so quickly

Maybe he just isn't very good. We are all jumping on the fact that he muffed one punt and that's why he was cut but what if his career here was already dangling on a string because he had shown nothing up to that point.
Nothing in training camp, nothing in practice, nothing in games and then he really screws up in what probably cost us a very winnable game. I believe the only reason he was even getting a chance to return punts was because of his draft position and not an example of what he had shown on the field. Easy to say after all that time if a player hasn't moved an inch in development that its time to move on and try someone else.
