He got a tweet....he is the master of breaking news that the whole world knows..lol. You are dead on JH...ending times for any type of storm never end on time and probably end at least a few hours earlier then predicted 90% of the time or later 10% of the time..its the ole cover theeee ass.
Great pick up CMAN. Great pick up. This track...the storm on radar...all of it has a noreaster look to it because it is actually one. This storm has underperformed because it never really bombed out as modeled. No real big winds but some areas are getting drenched. As far as things to come, I made mention of that last page. You do not see storms this time of the year develop in the south and then brush the coast....this storm screams of lets say January 14th, not September. This is the second storm this month that has done this. Long Island got drenched with rain when this track occurred earlier in the month...and as you mentioned...need to see if this continues a few times in October because then a trend is born. Combine that with lower then normal temps which is pretty much a guarantee this winter? That could be a problem. Nice pick up bud.
Which I meant to mention when we talked about colder then normal temps this winter being pretty much a lock. Oil prices have come down a decent amount and those that heat their homes/businesses with oil should seriously think about filling up soon. I would think accuweather and weather.com will soon have their long term winter stuff spilling out and when they do, they will mention colder then normal temps..which could cause prices to begin to go up. Just a thought.
weather.com now posting 0% precipitation risk from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Bronx: http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/USNY0172
YEAH GG..even had a nice little rainbow for MR JETER. Fitting. Incredible weather continues with maybe a similiar baby noreaster tuesday night/wednesday....hmmm. 3rd one this month.
Yeah FJF but its a weird setup and not an actual storm. A upper level low dropping in from AK associated with a cold front so does it just end up being a cold front? Tough call...but NWS has 60 percent chance of rain this far out so they are buying something more then just a front..
I'll give you some of the rain that we have been getting here in Nebraska. It's been nonstop rain for a while now.
Been raining all day and now pouring at night. Flooding everywhere and a flash flood warning is out until 2:30am Central Time. Creeks are also high from heavy rain all day. I'd say we finish with around 6" of rain since radar estimates are around 4-5" right now. This is going to screw up the harvest if we keep getting this rain.
Were you guys in a drought situation before all of this rain JH? Im guessing this in not "much needed rain". That time of the year as the jet stream begins its shift south..and it does so in a very volatile way some times.
Hey guys do not want to take up a bunch of space here with this but the weather site I have discussed for several years is up and running. Having a little problem with the homepage picture and several other things..and need to make some stat corrections I posted...but its getting there and thanks for the many here that helped this happen by just being here and posting. If anyone here would like to post a testimonial...that would be greatly appreciated. After doing all the write ups for the different sections...some written to's need to say for and some an should be a..lol...and will do a quick read through tonite and fix other things but its up. Thanks again...and heres the site www.jaysweather.net Of course will always continue to post in here also...thanks Petro for letting me put the website..thanks very much.
Great website Jay. I already wrote my testimonial. And like you said, thanks to Petro for allowing you to post your websites link here.
The record crest is from the historic 1993 Mississippi River and Missouri River basin floods. Historical Crests (1) 26.08 ft on 07/24/1993 (2) 24.50 ft on 06/13/1984 (3) 23.82 ft on 05/06/2007 (4) 23.77 ft on 07/26/1990 (5) 23.32 ft on 06/21/2010
Big thanks to Petro and read what you wrote Brook...you are a class act bud...and thanks to abyz ...MR and CBG who also wrote some great great stuff...very much appreciated.
Just paid a visit and I like it Jay. I did leave one suggestion for your consideration. I would take a page from Intellicast and incorporate animated Radar maps with a regional overlay. Color coded, the whole enchilada. Advertising revenue probably wouldn't hurt the cause either...
Next time you go to the site CMAN...check the "news and sports" which is mostly experimental and you will see I read your suggestion..and just spent 1 hour playing around making sure I could personally add all the animated stuff..and I need some practice but I am almost there..but you will see animation now sir!!..thanks cman.
