I hear Chuck Weis isn't doing anything these days maybe he'll be willing to take our plethora of talent to the top of the rankings.
this is what happens w/ most OCs, from the outside looking in everything looks great but when we follow our team as close as we do we see the perceived mistakes. Fans across the league are whining about their OC today, usually the teams that lose are whining louder but most are complaining in some fashion.
I'm definitely your average arm chair Qb, just a fan who has been watching this team since 1979-1980. My problems with MM, is his personnel groupings with down distance situations, then the play he sends in. It may all be Geno. He may have choices for all we know. Marty's system isn't near as complicated like Schottenheimers. It is very predictable. Maybe it's all that way because of our offensive personnel. Either way, it sucks when we need a first down or we are in the red zone, and all we come away with is a stinking field goal. It's the total opposite of Rex's defense, which no one knows what's next. I guess time will tell. Maybe further development is needed.
Yup ..... maddening indeed! The worst part of it all is that we have pretty good talent overall on the roster, and a great head coach (and defensive mastermind). But he can't hire an OC to save his life!!! (or his job)
His playcalling is obviously questionable at times, but this offense is 11th in the NFL right now in yards per game (compared to being in the bottom 5-10 the past 5 years). Clean up the red zone shit and we'll be fine.
I seriously believe half the people on this board could do a better job at drafting than the jets do. They take a guy like Millner at #9 overall who had FIVE surgeries in college and wonder why he's hurt. They spend a high 3rd round pick on McDougle who barely played his senior year of college and whom nfl.com pegged as potential "Mr. Irrelevant (256th best). The jets never pick the obviously best player but for some reason talk themselves into some guy like Ken O'Brien over Dan Marino, Bryan Thomas over Ed Reed, Kyle Brady over Warren Sapp, Mike Nugent in the 2nd round...
...and on the flip side, We draft then let our best talents go!! Douglas, Abraham, Revis, Terance Mathis, Craig Hentrich, James Hasty, Keyshawn It's absolutely Mind Boggling!!
So I am listening to Siriusxm NFL radio and they are interviewing Tom Flores about the goings on of the Raiders and firing Dennis Allen. Well it gets down to do you fire the HC or GM or both and Flores replies that, " HC's always take the fall for a bad record in the NFL unless you are Rex Ryan because they only get rid of coordinators at the Jets". So is Rex untouchable?
Both are supposed to be unprdictable. But they aren't. Sexy Rexy will bring the house when shit hits the fan and MM with do a cute gadget play where Geno throws the ball to a receiver who isn't past the marker.
Nobody in the media can figure out Rex. Half of them thought he deserved to stay after going 8-8, the other half thought he should be fired. Nobody could agree and it's the same thing again. A few on each side have personal biases obviously, more than just football. People can't figure him out because they can't figure out the Jets. You criticize the Jets and poke fun of them at having no talent and Rex goes 8-8, well why does Rex go? People got caught in their own traps of wanting Rex gone, thinking the Jets would do 3-13 bad last year, and having the Jets go 8-8. However this year, we might get the opposite where people overestimated the Jets (because they underestimated ten last year) and Rex won't live up to the expectations and get fired.
