I'd have to agree, I was also embarrassed. Don't be so fickle. We all want to win, but fans have to have some composure too. Also, any fan personally attacking a professional athelete (on the team they root for) is a coward. Probably some drunk asshole telling Geno he hopes he gets injured. Not cool, whether you want Vick or not. As a side note, I dont think Sheldon was necessarily right in what he said either.
how about this sheldon...how about you shut up and stop calling time outs costing us touchdowns..we have coaches for that.... and on a side note, no it's not our job to produce NFL QB's as offspring to compensate for our poorly run team. Although if you pay me millions of dollars I sure as hell will try. Thanks for playing.
and LOL at the people saying anyone chanting for Vick isn't a fan and shouldn't be allowed in Metlife. True story, those of us who want to win don't fit the mold I suppose. Let's continue to blindly defend mediocrity. BC that's what a real fan is.
Your opinion on who's a true fan and who isn't doesn't matter. Deal with it buttercup. Unless ownership makes a change in what is tolerated behavior they have the right to say anything they want.
seriously...this whole notion that you have to blindly cheer is nonsense. has it ever occured to anyone that supporting the team is rallying for what puts us in the best position to win games? this team existed before this entire roster and staff and will continue to exist long after they are gone. who will be left? the fans. so no, i don't buy this whole put the pom pom's on and be a real fan garbage.
It really does appear that there is a culture in the stands to boo and chant for the backup the same way there is a culture within the stands of college teams to taunt the opposing team's fans. It's almost automatic. Geno has sucked, don't get me wrong, but whenever something didn't go right, the boos came out with the same strength every time. I don't think that 80% of the fans in the stadium really even know the game. It does sort of remind me of Cowboys games but in a different respect. A ton of fans are just there to be part of the group, and not to actually experience what is going on in the game. The watering down of the stadium fanbase, as much as it sucks, is a direct result of the pricing out of real fans.
i'll tell you exactly why...bc people are afraid if they rally for something else and geno succeeds they'll look bad and look like they never supported the team, that's why...
is it possible that when things didn't go right in key moments it was Geno's fault? Is it possible that Geno has tanked and cost us multiple wins? Is it possible people realize this and don't think Geno is better than he is because they can't get past the colors he's wearing?
You're REALLY going to rapidfire me with questions, Turk? Why do you only show up in situations like this?
Meh, at least we a passion for the team. It's not just the fans saying Geno sucks, I think pretty much everyone outside the Jets organization thinks Geno sucks.
Well, the next stop after booing is apathy. I guess a quiet MetLife stadium is a better option than fans that still give a shit one way or the other according to Shelly. As it is, all those well heeled PSL owners are quiet for the most part and when the Jets actually were playing like they cared, the stadium got as loud as I ever heard it on ST. So, if we're not supposed to boo, and they give us nothing to cheer about, why don't we all just stay home and let the team insert digitized fans that only cheer. Would MetLife looking like Citi Field make the Jets a better team? You'd think so listening to some fans and players.
Sheldon's the one that needs to stfu. He should be last guy telling other people to shut up after the TO fiasco.
Richardson did play really well yesterday though, his pass-rushing technique is much better this year.
Richardson and Wilkerson in my opinion are leaders of this team. They are going to bring it every week and I respect them completely for their approach to the game.
