What's your plan? Ride out Geno for a 3rd season of turnovers and stupidity? Ridiculous.

Exactly! we will most likely need a QB at the end of this year

I think best case is to look at a veteran QB next off season. Probably won't get Mariotta and that's the only QB worth investing in.

IDK I'm just not a huge fan of the QB prospects this coming draft.

What the Jets should have done was build the team up in 2013 then go get the QB in 2014. Maybe they try it again by getting skill position players this draft then give the keys to a QB in 2016.

Jets need to raise the talent level before ruining a young QB.

I used to believe that as well, but with out a long term QB the franchise can use that can change status que. The team falls apart around it.

We will get our QB but the timing has to be right. The Geno acquisition was bad timing because the talent level around him is so bad. Geno can't make his teammates better. He's not Russel Wilson.

So before giving the keys to a young QB we need to make sure the team has structure. We also need a HC that can help develop a QB.

Should have drafted Gorappolo when we had the chance.

Turnarounds can happen quick in the NFL. IDK about this one though. It's going to be a long ride.

He turned an ankle in a pile up when someone fell on him--not really a fragility issue, it's one of those things that happens to QBs when they go into a scrum, I think it was a sneak and a 290 lb lineman rolled on his ankle.

When I think of the fragility issue it's more in the nature of taking repeated hits and not being able to withstand the pounding. He has spindly legs like Geno did last year--recall Geno turned and ankle in preseason without getting hit--once Teddy is in a full year of weight training he'll add muscle like Geno did this offseason.

Watched the game on rewind last night, geez he looks good. Comfortable, decisive, quick with the release and had two GREAT runs--the TD and some whacky spin move escaping a sure sack to pick up a long first down.

Minnesota fans must be so incredibly happy about their future.

No we can never get my wish. I didn't want a new QB.

    I wanted Teddy Bridgewater.

Considering the opportunities we passed up in last year's draft, I think we need to ride out Geno and see if his football IQ can be improved. He's got the physical tools, I've just never liked his football IQ.

Which IMHO is the most important trait in a QB.

Moving to Texas has been rough for me, however this forum needs to look up Bryce Petty at Baylor. I've watched Mariotta, Hundley, Winston, Miller. He will be better than all of them. He runs a pro style offense with multiple reads, and has good size. Check him out. Jets need this guy.

Oh no no no, not what I said. My wish was for Teddy but nobody said I only get one wish. :D

If we're top 5 I'd move heaven and earth to get up to 1 to take Mariota.

Saw a few of his games last year and wasn't impressed. I put him almost in the same category as Hundley from what I saw last year. I need to check out a Baylor game; it's possible he's improved.

I think if you put Mariota in this offense even he struggles. We will get our qb but must get talent first.

    That's the opposite thinking.

We need a QB we can develop talent around, not get the talent and hope the QB can develop.

Mariota may struggle at first--like most young QBs--but he's a guy you can develop around.
