As previously reported, Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Scorpion) will direct the first two of the eight-episode sophomore season, which centers on two police officers and a career criminal who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. Production on season two is set to begin later this fall in California. Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him. Vaughn is set as Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
He was Oscar-worthy in Dodgeball. And Rip Torn should have won Best Supporting for his cameo of Patches O'Houlihan. _
Season 1 had a really strong actor in Matt McConaughey and a solid second man in Woody. I was thinking that Farrell was the Woody in this equation. It's just fucking laughable. Stokes, I know you liked the guy in In Bruges, but he was barely an above average second fiddle. This is as weak as it gets.
100% as I was thinking he was going to be the second man as well and that the main character was going to be someone much more formidable. When you look at Farrell's work he has one great role, 3 ok pics, a great cameo and a ton of absolute crap. His portrayal of Alexander was one of the worst casting and worst acting jobs I've ever seen. The New World sucked but don't even get me started on Terrence Malick. _
He was exceptional in In Bruges, was good in Cassandra's Dream, The Way Back, Tigerland and Seven Psychopaths and although not a great movie I liked him in London Boulevard. Great cameo in Horrible Bosses. That's about it for me. _
http://www.mtv.com/news/1943269/rachel-mcadams-true-detective/ Rachel McAdams has joined as the other detective for Season 2...Not bad, I like her
Interesting choice. Assuming she'll be somewhat like the character played by Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty. _
What the hell happened to Ed Norton's career? His first 3 years he's in 2 classics and 2 other really good movies and he's barely been in anything watchable the next 15 years.
Ugh, is there anything worse than a Wes Anderson movie? Even seeing a commercial for one of those douchefests makes me want to punch him in the face. Hey look, it's Bill Murray acting wacky! And the big nosed doofus that couldn't even kill himself. We get it already.
Punch him in the face? Atta boy… That said, how do you see the 2014 Fall TV Show Lineup shaping up? TGG: Rex Ryan. 3rd&15draw: Rex Reed.
