Idzik gets a maybe B grade right now........and after season probably less unless Geno and company can rally and win. Take that Ivy degree and go to Wall Street. My doubts after Chicago game are growing on his draft decision making

    This is a ridiculous list.

First, Tajh Boyd is not on Idzik.

Second, virtually none of these guys got very much $. Since cap space is the life-blood of a franchise in terms of on-the-field success, the vast majority of these guys shouldn't be labeled as "screwups" whatsoever.

A "screwup" is when you give Mark Sanchez an extension because you don't want him to feel bad about your pursuit of Peyton Manning.

lol @ Garrard being the first to come to your mind.

  6. Half this list is training camp fodder.

    Get a clue.

Can't agree with David Nelson. We grabbed him off the streets mid season last year and he turned out to be our best guy. He would be a great #4 to have. He's obviously not a #2 which is why he may be disappointing to fans.

More about what he hasnt done. Winters was a bad pick. We knew that last year...how we didnt go after a vet guard this offseason is inconceivable. With 20 mill in space a special teams guy should have been brought in to to handle KR and PR. Instead we have two scrubs taking up two spots.

Chris Johnson was a bad signing. Chris Ivory was a good trade. Accept your mistakes early and dont be afraid to hurt feelings.

A WR should have been taken in the first or second round. And David Nelson is not a #4. He shouldnt be on the field.

Idzik must be doing a great job if most of what you can come up with is training camp competition and midseason scrap pickups.

Hmmmm. I am no a huge fan of Idzik, but how many people wanted his job? He's
building a team with a coach he didn't hire and an owner who's higher education comes
from the biggest party school in the country. Not exactly the greatest situation to
    run into as a rookie.

Sorry Woody, I was holding that one back. But my friend graduated from UA and all he came back
with a communications degree in beer bongs and malted hops.

That list makes zero sense. Your taking marginal, bottom of the roster players and adding them as "screw ups". Those aren't screw ups.

The only certain crew ups in that list are Goodson and Patterson and they were low risk signings for the most part to begin with.

Vernon Gholston, thats a screw up.

Santonio Holmes, thats a screw up.

    Tajh Boyd?????? Not so much.

    Come on man

This is a pretty good point. At the time I didn't think much about the "Jets can't give the GM job away" narrative but now in hindsight maybe there was some truth to it. As much as I LOVE Rex, handcuffing a GM candidate to a coach may not be the way to land premium talent for the position.

Maybe you could add Milliner if he continues the injury problems..but overall this list is a joke. Your 2nd post was not a memorable one pal.

I'm a billiards player. I don't like playing against guys that can't play as it does nothing to improve my game. The same is true in sports. Competing against inferior talent just gives you a false sense of superiority. Seattle players say the games are easy because the competitions in practice against their teammates are so hard. I thought that's what we were trying to mirror here. Did I get the wrong memo?

That analogy makes no sense. If you want to be great you will find flaws in your own game that needs improvement. Competition helps but not to the extent you are talking about.
