I literally feel sick after reading all of that. Every moment brought so much pain with it. Especially when the times when we had a chance to go far and blew it.
Decade??? How`s about the last 4.5 decades?? It`ll be another 5.5 decades before this franchise sniffs playing in the SB, if the SB is still around at that time. I can easily see sports, all major sports(NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) simply dying out slowly, as it is now with the NBA and NHL. Spoiled jackasses playing, greed-driven owners, dumbass commissioners and only very rich people being able to afford season tickets. Sporting events were for the average man to relax and enjoy. I believe the average man/fan has smartened up some and no longer wastes hard earned money to take his family out to a ball game anymore. Even just an occasional game regardless of sport costs over $500 to attend. Thats insane. Use to cost less than $500 for 1 person for an entire NFL season. The NFL not only needs to rethink it`s policies with players(the thugs, wife beaters, druggies, etc), but they should also rethink the paying of these rotten greed driven individuals. Why does an NFL player feel he needs to be "set for life" financially? I`m not against earning some good money while they have a career, but isn`t the free scholarships for education the "set for life" aspect? Most, if not all, college players get free education because they can play a game. Have a career, earn some good money, then go to work with the education and be a productive citizen like everyone else tries to be. They want it all I guess and they ain`t gettin it from me anymore. I think all the fans should simply boycott all sports until they stop bleeding the fans dry of all of their money. Without the fans, they ain`t got shit. Oh, Goodell is a fucking moron. Total liar and idiot. I hope the big advertisers pull out leaving the NFL high & dry for a change. I know I have never ONCE purchased something because it was advertised during a sporting event on television. The advertisers need to realize this and stop giving the NFL the big $ to run those adverts.
Over & Out, I somewhat agree with your outlook on the major sports, especially I am getting sick of all the ads making these games go for over 3 hours now but what does that have to with the top worst Jets moments?
I usually just skip over your posts because they are always a bunch of bellyaching hysterics, but at least this time you added some perspective.
It doesn't make sense really. For the better part of the last 15 years the Jets can be considered a relatively successful franchise. Only 7 franchises have made the playoffs more than the Jets over that span and the Seahawks the same amount of times while the Jets come in with the 13th best winning percentage since 2000 from my findings. Still it seems like we have a boat load of embarrassing moments despite the success. The kneel down with Herm in 2004 is one I feel like embodies the entire franchise and it's mistakes.
This, my friend, is what we in the business call juncbait. But yeah, that was a truly shameful situation in a playoff game. Doug Brien may have sucked, but he shouldn't have been the scapegoat for that game. And certainly shouldn't have been a reason to burn a 2nd round pick on a fucking kicker. As far as what embodies this franchise... it's draft day whenever we try to address the QB position.
I could never understand why you'd optionally make a kick 2-3 yards deeper in the hardest place in the NFL to kick. As far as quarterback goes it always makes me wonder if I'd rather just endure 2-14 season after 2-14 season until we hit an Andrew Luck sweepstakes. The god damn Colts needed one season to transition from Manning to Luck and it sucks because for years those Colts teams were terribly put together yet the offense needed one player to make it run effectively.
Most definitely in a season without a franchise quarterback available. I was never wishing that the team lose and not be competitive just merely pondering if it's better for the long term of the franchise.
By my count, nine teams have been to the playoff more time than the Jets (6 times) in the last fifteen seasons, including Seattle (9 times) BAL(9),DEN(7),GB(10),IND(13),NE(12),NYG(7),PHI(9) and PIT(8). Six others have the same amount of appearences, ATL,MIN,NO,SD,TB and TEN. So while they are not living with the bottom feeders, there is still a lot of water above their heads.
What a pathetic article. We haven't exactly been the worst team over the last decade but yet some chump has to focus on it. It's really kind of sad that someone has to behave this way to justify his own existence. Report don't distort.
didn`t have much to do with the Jets losing year after year after year after year. Just a tirade I had to post. I was out of beer and cognac when I logged in. Sorry. I don`t usually go looking for specific threads to post in. I just post what I feel at that moment regardless of the topic. I`m sure there was a proper thread somewhere to tirade in. Just didn`t look for one. As far as the topic goes, why only go back the last decade when there are 45 years of crap football to look back on? I will say this though. The BIGGEST embarrasment in their entire history is bending over for the Giants organization and giving them the shittiest 1.6 billion dollar stadium ever built, then raping the Jets fans for their money. Feel better now. I have beer and Irish whiskey now.
Sounds about right. Doubt we see a top 10 high light reel anytime soon, since everybody hates us and likes sucking on the Giants.
a few big ones for me were, rex with his whole gives us the best chance to win bullshit. tebow bold faced lying to he media and then smirking right after he did it. herman edwards, god how soon we forget how bad this fucking guy was. the blame deflector. his press conferences were brutal. and nyjuncs continued support of herm edwards, brian schottenheimer and mark sanchez. that was probably the most embarrassing thing for me personally over the past decade.
