10 was painful. I ordered 10 chicken selects and a large fries and downed it on my way home from dropping off my friend at his apartment. Then I called my girlfriend and started a fight

This loss to the Pack was the most painful loss of the entire 2014 season.

i didnt speak to my friends in middle school for a week after the steelers loss. lmao. No really i sat in the back of my class traumatized all day staring into space replaying the ball hitting the crossbar over and over. I hated Doug Briens guts. i was way too young be to be an old grumpy stressed out jets fan.

The pain of losing on a missed FG, I don't think anything can top that. I know that team wasn't the strongest, but the game was ours. It was ours and we lost how SD lost the previous week.

I guess to add some optimism to this, Nate Kaeding probably won us 2 playoff games, thanks Nate!

I'm actually surprised the majority picked the Steeler AFC Championship (I did). I suspect if I was older it might have been the '86 Cleveland game. But after beating the Pats the way they did, to completely no-show in the first half of a winnable game to get to the Super Bowl was disgusting.

    Agreed.

Anything can happen. It would have been the third time we saw them that year though, division teams always have the best chance of knocking each other off cause we see them more then anyone else. I agree we probably would have lost though, just would have been nice to been in that game.

I didn't vote for it but i'm a little surprised nobody voted for the Indy 09 game. Yes it was a shock we were there and all and obviously I dont think anyone thought that team was as talented as the 2010 and 98 teams but I mean we still did have a 17-6 lead at one point.

The loss to the Dolphins at the mudbowl was so brutal b/c the Dolphins were their bitter rivals at the time (like New England now) and the Dolphins purposely let the field get soaked from an earlier rain (instead of putting down a tarp) to take away the Jets' speed advantage. Richard Todd had a horrible game and the Jets lost 14-0. At least the Dolphins lost the Superbowl. Hah!

Miami beat us twice on good fields that season, 2 of our 3 losses.

common theme - all these painful losses have been on the road. Maybe if this organization could secure a few more home playoff games there would be less painful losses to talk about. That's why you can't downplay the importance of the regular season.

'98 denver was the worst for me by the way

Oh, sorry about that. The Pitt loss was painful in 2010, it's even more painful now as we haven't been close to that point since.

The way we lost in 04 was worse but I knew either way we were gonna get rolled in New England. Probably better that we didn't make it lol.

81 vs the Bills. Cause I was there. Not that you could see a goddamn thing from where we sat at Shea.

The Cleveland game left a mark, that was a great team, but you knew the window was closing so we needed them to get on a hot streak.

The Mud Bowl and 98 didn't sting for me because I really thought in both instances we had a great team assembled and we'd be competitive for awhile and it was just a matter of time before it all broke for us. And then the kick in the nuts came shortly thereafter.
