Let's get better at coaching the fundamentals, like taking proper tackling angles [cough…cough…Pryor], before we start worrying about situational coaching.
One guy who did not break was Geno- I hope the rest of the team can bounce back. We lost our best offensive player and our best defensive player and still "tied" the game. It sucks but we put up more points than most predictions I saw gave us. Almost all of us had this written up as a loss before the season but we nearly got the win. The way we lost really hurts but I don't think it means we are in for a rough season. Lets not panic.
The ball was underthrown because Geno got rocked mid-throw because Winters can't handle a pass rush. Get your facts straight. To simply call it an underthrow is ignorant. The DB made a nice play on the ball because the tight end who he was attempting to cover, at 6'7 feet tall, wasn't aware enough to knock the ball away.
Aaron Rodgers is a beast and did Aaron Rodgers things. In a league that favors quarterbacks, beating truly elite quarterbacks at their buildings will always be extremely difficult, particularly if they are on a talented roster. The Packers have flaws, but man they have talent in certain spots. And that shone when it needed to. The Packers are a better team than the Jets. I don't think it's a game where we need to bring out the Fire Rex torches for. Eventually Rodgers and those receivers were going to pick apart our secondary, because Milliner clearly wasn't 100%.
Yep. This is bad but hopefully we can learn and improve from the game. If we beat Chicago at home we'll be back on track.
I disagree with the OP. As soon as the half begins we should burn all our timeouts immediately. Then maybe our late game TD's won't get erased.
Yep as soon as we turned that over I knew we would get overrun. The Packers were rattled, the fans were frustrated and booing the offense, they panicked and went for an onside kick which we easily recovered and we had the ball at the start of the 2nd half. Instead of running down the clock to halftime and putting a score on the board (any score) we give it back to them and then our D just let them march down the field on us. From there it was inevitable they would score a TD before the half and run over us in the 2nd half. So frustrating because we were really in control of the game to that point and a win in Lambeau as massive underdogs could've really set us up for the season. Instead now we're back 1-1 with some tough games over the next month.
Ok. This was unfortunate on lots of levels. We were s'posed to run all over them. Our backs looked lackluster.
