I'm not calling for anyone to get fired. But we need better coaching. Case in point: -Better discipline on this team on both sides of the ball. It's embarassing how often we lose our cool - 3 minutes left and you don't go for the field goal on that play? On a 4th and 8??? WTF??!? -Better attacking mentality. What happened to the offense after we were up 21 points? Step on their fucking throats. Rex needs to stop relying on his defense that can't stop shit. -Running out of timeouts by the end of the game. This should never happen. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOURE DOWN! We need someone to come in and talk to Rex about how to be better in those situations. These little things keep fucking shooting us in the foot and it won't be fixed until Rex Ryan starts to become aware of what's going on around him.
We didn't have any penaltys until the second half I think, but we were looking real good in that department until all hell broke loose after the endzone fight and it was all downhill from there
I've never seen a well coached team where the OC or a defensive lineman gets to call timeouts on fourth downs with the game in the balance. Seriously, if this happens again, Rex should be toast. Little league teams have more discipline.
-losing cool is frustrating, especially since it wasn't the typical offenders -Is this the 4th Q, I agree going for it. We had 1 TO left only and Rodgers/GB was picking us apart. -Attacking mentality went away because the OL for whatever reason started getting pushed around. But also was attacking in the above situation by going for it and not relying on your D -Timeouts was brutal.
Also things like Sudfeld not even trying to bat down the ball...that's just lack of coaching. These things need to be accounted for during training camp. Little things like that can mean the difference between making or not making the playoffs.
I think that's a stretch. CJ broke up a near INT, at some point the players also have to be held responsible too.
This is nothing new. We've been saying these same things for years now and guess what? Nothing changes. This is what the Jets are. 1 step forward, 2 steps sideways. Same shit over and over and over. Dumb assed penalties, Lousy clock management, lack of adjustments. Same old shit, different Sunday. This team still isn't ready for prime time. Neither is its coaching staff.
You're comparing a ten year veteran to someone that's only had 2 years of playing experience. These things need to be worked on and accounted for. Rex needs to wake up...Or he needs better handlers behind the scene that can watch out during these situations for him. He's a great D-cord, but as a coach...
Agreed with everything but that was 4 down territory with a lack of timeouts and with Rodgers tooling us in the air so I have no problem with going for it. My problem are the 3 straight runs on that drive when the Packers were clearly winning the battle of the trenches. And Powell was the best back today and wasn't even considered for those 3 runs so that's a double fail.
I've watched football for years and know to that. Player should know situational play too. I agree Rex needs to get better for this team, but things like Sudfield, I have to point my finger at the player. That's shouldn't be a teachable thing at that point, you should know not to let the other guy catch the ball. No thing complicated
The poor management of timeouts really pisses me off. I knew it was going to be a rough 2nd half when a timeout was used 2 minutes into it
Truer words never written. Rex and his staff get outcoached every week. Ahead 21-9, FIRST down on their 27, 2 minutes in the half and they throw to their 3rd string TE to the end zone instead of killing clock and FG. The Packers didn't take it, we gave it.
We also need a starting caliber LG. Winters is sh-t. Aside from a few great hookups by Rodgers, this team beat itself today. 12-men on the field negating the INT is another one that's been overlooked.
12 men on the field isn't a coaching problem. Rodgers saw it and quick snapped. I wanted to see if Green Bay made substations because if they did then that's another officiating gaffe.
Sud was out of position. His momentum was carrying him into TE end zone and the ball was under thrown. The DB made a nice play on the ball. Blame Sanjay if you want but he and Sudfeld ain't the guys to be mad at on this one.
