It wasn't so I'm not dealing with hypotheticals.

No polar bears were spitting on us either.

Why keep watching the game then? Surely by that logic Geno has no control over Decker or what the opposing offense does. The game comes down to player making plays and refs getting the calls right. Neither are an absolute.

But you are when you say things like it shouldn't have come down to that. It did and the refs got it wrong. There is nothing hypothetical about the refs blowing that call.

I have 0 control over the Jets when I'm watching at home. Maybe if I go to a home game I have 0.00000000000000001% chance of controlling the game by helping the crowd be loud and forcing a false start. Yet I harp on players, coaches, refs, etc. It's what we do as sports fans. We have no control over it yet we focus on it and discuss it.

This won't be made a big deal because it's the Jets. Look at the shitstorm after the fail Mary. That happened because it affected a marquee franchise.

Good for you...me too...Two things were certain. Jets wouldn't win and packers wouldn't cover. Fuck this league.

obviously my post was referring to what the Jets players and coaches have control over and not what I or we personally have control over. I didn't think it was necessary to specify that, but wow man.

    Yes, they blew the call.

But it never should have come down to that one play.

But what was being posited was "what if it were a totally different situation, would that have mattered to me"?

It wasn't a totally different situation so my original opinion is not swayed by the hypothetical that was posed.

If Rex had a clue how to be a HC, he would get in MM's face and tell him the next time he tries to call a timeout he's gonna be picking his ass up off the ground,. and there'd better not be a third time or he would be in the unemployment line.

I'm saying that call didn't need to be made. It had no effect on the play and I've seen similar situations go unpenalized

It's about placing blame on something the team cannot control. The Jets need to take care of what they can and everything else should fall into place. Pissing the game away and having the fans point at outside factors is laughable. The Jets didn't take care of what they needed to today even after giving themselves a big cushion.

But saying it shouldn't have come down to that is also hypothetical. In your and my opinion it shouldn't have come down to that but it did. I refuse to say it cost us the game because I have no idea what happens after that but it certainly cost us 6 points.

Oh without a doubt ,I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL doesn't even acknowledge this.Look what they are doing with the Ray Rice situation ,they will sweep this under the rug

But it did, that's football. Teams blow leads, teams come back from them. What shouldn't happen is a paid official completely forgetting the rulebook.
