They are really soft though. That team falls apart once you punch them in the mouth and that's about the best thing this Jets team does. I think it's a good matchup outside of their receivers, especially since it's at home. It reminds me of the Saints matchup last year. Very favorable for a physical home team and for a weak offensive team.
I thought the Saints lost because they were undermanned due to injuries, but in general you may have a good point here. Again I am not so hot on looking too far down the road. For starters we will have a MUCH better idea about future matchups when the Jets have already played GB. Oakland was a test, but not a very good test.
And the Pats were a field goal away from sweeping the Jets...I think we did outplay them last year but we will see what haplens this year once we play a real opponent.
I think you are missing the point. The Jets are continuously depicted as inferior to New England every single year. That's what I was responding to.
This is so true. It's always hysterical to listen to the collective national sports media before every Jets/Pats game. The story never changes. The Jets are a talentless circus. The Pats are a perfectly coached team that never loses a big game. And then the game happens and its a nail-biter, and usually, completely up for grabs in the 4th quarter. I respect the Patriots more than anyone. They have been ridiculously consistent for a very long time. But they haven't won the big game in a decade now. People always talk about them like they just won the superbowl.
Correct, Jets stand a better chance of covering the spread than players during the tougher part of the schedule lol...
I have a faint memory of Buffalo killing Pats in week 1 in about 2003 with Ty Law doing damage against his former team- forgive me if I'm wrong But i do think Pats won it all that year Hope this is no repeat
If we can split that somehow...it might seem overboard..but that might be the difference between playoffs or not. Can we still make the playoffs losing both? Yeah...but if we split those two games and the way the season ends with the final 7 or 8 games...we will get in. Thats a brutal 4 days...friggin brutal..and a split would be a helluva accomplishment.
Arent the bears struggling with injuries to their Oline. I know slauson is out for the year and I think 1 other Olinemen is as well. Their Defense is as soft and weak as can be. Complete 180 of what it was under Lovie.
Yeah and we can thank a certain player who is no longer with the Jets for blowing the game in Foxboro.
