I'm seeing this being talked about a lot on twitter right now. Considering Ray Rice is done, Baltimore is in need of a running back. Speculation is they might look to trade for a guy like Bilal Powell. With Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory would you trade Powell for Jacoby Jones? We could activate Richardson off the practice squad who looked very good in preseason. I love Powell, but we need receivers. Thoughts?
I dont think Jones can help the Jets at WR. He isnt much better than what they have. Better to keep Powell and wait for the draft or free agency. I heard next years WR free agents are pretty good
I'd trade him for a draft pick. With Daryl Richardson down there on the PS they could call him up and not miss a beat.
Yep, look at next years list. Even tho some will probably resign, you never know. Torrey Smith Dez Bryant Wes Welker Demaryius Thomas Randall Cobb Reggie Wayne Hakeem Nicks Jeremy Maclin Michael Crabtree At least 2-3 of those guys will make it to free agency. I bet the Jets grab one. Imagine putting Decker, Bryant and Kerley out there? Plus it gets Bryant out of my division lol
No thanks. I'm cautious and don't believe CJ and Ivory will stay healthy the whole season. If they do, awesome, but if they don't we are trading a solid player in Powell
Did you not see the modified wishbone formation last week that had CJ, Ivory and Powell all lined up with Geno? The possibilities of that formation are far, far better than anything Jacoby Jones can offer.
why trade powell to baltimore when we could be competing against them for a play off spot. they just got weaker, let's not help them recuperate
I'm so excited for that. It was only week 1 so I'll bet anything that Marty held back, but I think he's gonna pull some awesome shit out of that formation, he's got 4 more than capable runners within 2 yards of each other.
No way I do that deal. BP is a very valuable insurance policy, especially with Ivory's durability history. I think CJ has a good track record, so I'm too concerned there. But at some point I could see BP backing up CJ and Richardson as the third option, with Ivory missing time. The guy is just violence personified when he runs...
He was a free agent this past season and resigned with Bal., IIRC. I don't believe he had any serious offers. If we didn't want him then, why would we give up a layer for him now.
