Which one of these 2 guys would you be more afraid to lose?

    Marty doesn't throw the ball.
    Geno is more valuable.

I'd be afraid to lose either of them because in either case we're back to square one on offense and the Super Bowl window is likely pushed out a year or two as a result.

Brad Johnson doesn't come free very often these days in the NFL. Adding a QB who can put you over the top is an unlikely proposition, and in fact the last QB other than Johnson to win a SB for a team other than the one who drafted him was Drew Brees. Those guys come loose even less often.

BTW, MM's game plan is why Geno had such a good day throwing the ball on Sunday. Lots of short passes with the occasional deep shot is the way to with the current personnel. Geno could go 70%+ on his passes for the season if the Jets use that type of game plan all year long, despite the fact that his accuracy is only average.

Marty is the best offensive coordinator the Jets have had in a LONGGGGGGGG time, his ability to develop QBs is legit. Without Marty, Geno doesn't improve the way he does.

Geno's value at this juncture, it's not worth much, not right now.

I think if Geno and Marty stay together MM can make Geno into something really good. I just hope he doesn't do too well before Geno is fully developed and get offered a HC job.

Other than Marty's questionable wildcat play calls he's been awesome and Geno is starting to really come around. I wouldn't want to lose either one but I'd choose Geno if I had to.

Depends on your belief in Geno, right? If you believe Geno is going to become a great QB, it's really tough to lose though. If you think Geno is not going to be a great QB, well keep the good OC for the next QB that comes along.

Right now, I would go Marty, because I'm not convinced Geno is a permanent starter for years to come. End of the year, I might have a different answer.

Neither because I like continuity. But if I had to choose I say Geno.

But Geno isn't a great QB yet, he's not even a good one right now.

I don't see how anyone can vote for Geno at this juncture when he is unproven while Marty is. I don't want to go back to the Schottenheimer days ...

In terms of rankings , Marty is a better OC than Geno is a QB.

But if someone thinks he can grow into that or has the potential, then you don't want to lose that over an OC. I voted for MM

I would say it's probably either. Both are intrinsically linked. Mornhinweg has had a year to
establish a game and with the same quarterback. And yes, Geno Smith is barely past his rookie year.
But they came up together and they will probably experience success or failure together.

MM has already long proven himself as an OC with a well established track record for success in implementing his version of the West Coast Offense with a bunch of QBs (both starters and back ups alike) so I'd have to say Marty is more valuable at this point. Particularly because you could arguably plug in Vick right now and not miss a beat (if not have an even better offense).

After having Schotty and seeing what he's been doing in St Louis I really appreciate what MM has done. I also think MM has in the past and with Geno been a great mentor for young QBs. Its hard to find a good QB but I still had to vote for MM.

I wonder how Geno would do with Shotty's 'complicated' offense? And sending all five WRs on 3 yard button hooks on a 4th and 5.
