Let's not lose sight at the real outrage here. Nobody talked At all about the actual recap from week 1. I got to listen to 6 consecutive hours at work tonight of something that happened in the off season.
I'm wondering how many people, including myself, refused to take him in our fantasy football drafts. I'm certainly glad I did, with his termination.
I dont know why its out of line to say that Rice shouldnt have done what he did but they both deserve blame...Im tired of acting like this wife was some defenseless angel when she started the whole thing
This whole story has taken on a life of it's own and I can't wait for it to be over, but if it gets Goodell out I am all for it. That would make this whole thing worth it, what a blessing in disguise. That being said, part of the reason this story has blown up so big is that people love drama. It was two adults acting like total fools and nothing more. All these moral debates and public outrage are products of the TMZ culture in this country and throughout the world. Common sense prevails, men shouldn't hit women and women should like-wise have respect for men. There's nothing more to see here. We all knew Goodell was a lowlife but now he's totally exposed. What a great thing it would be if he was ousted this way.
Because his response was so egregious and so far out of proportion to her "provocation" that most people would go out of their way to distance themselves from the scumbag and anything that could possibly be construed as a defense or excuse for him or his actions. Sadly not all, as we've seen in these threads.
The funny part is that he was apparently enduring such provocation from the casino to the elevator. She even smacked him in the face in the lobby. He waited until nobody was around (elevator with doors closed) before he knocked her unconscious. Too drunk to realize elevators have cameras, I guess. Or too stupid.
I didn't really feel like reading this entire 6 pages but just wanted to add my 0.02c. There is absolutely no way in hell I believe Goodell or the nfl didn't see this tape. Thr police obviously got to see it as they are allowed all access. But do people really think the nfl didn't ask what happened in the tapes or ask to see them??? Give me a break. The nfl dropped the ball on this one
Yeah I noticed he waited until the lady walked by the elevator as well, so much for heat of the moment.
The NFL gets FBI reports on its 7th round draft picks and UDFA's. They could have seen the video if they wanted to, I don't think they wanted to.
This annoyed me as well. This story isn't new. It happened around February. The only thing different is that Goodell proved he isn't fit to run this business. The video didn't show anything we didn't already know. Now it's all I've heard on the radio for the last 3 days about sports. Nothing about the games last night or the games on Sunday. Nothing about the Jets. I don't want to hear debates about Ray Rice. That shit has been done to death already. Goodell needs to explain himself, specifically about what about the video changed his view. I think he's backtracking because there was public outrage about how weak Rice's punishment was and he was looking for any excuse to change it. The video is just an appeal to emotion. The action itself isn't any worse than the video of that said action.
Trying to fall asleep this morning after work, espn, espn2, nfl network, and cbs radio all wouldn't stop talking about. Finally, boomer's show with some jets fan was on, with real sports talk.
Boomer and Carton are horrible. All they do is laugh at dumb shit and sing. Worst sports talk show in the world imo
Hey you take what you can get. It was my first time ever seeing the show, and there was a dude hyping the Jets so I was ok with it lol.
I think they are Jets fans so it makes sense. They take a huge shit on my Giants every chance they get tho lol
They've always just been boring to me. I hate their coach, Eli is an idiot, and well, i already have an nfc team i root for, don't need 2.
