No, individual stats only matter in the (VERY RARE - haha) cases in which they happen to support your hero.

And, btw, you once again, ignored my point because you had no other option. You highlighted a playoff game in which Rivers played really well . . . but, I can't expect you to make sense.

he played really well b/c he had a high rating!

I would bet Mark wins as many playoff games(if not more) as Rivers

He did play really well. Again, it was probably the most efficient game of his playoff career because he made NO big mistakes. And yes, typically, when a quarterback plays really well, his rating is at least decent. Only people who find themselves (for reasons not entirely understood) defending mediocre or bad quarterbacks have to minimize/totally ignore individual statistics.

Considering that they each currently have 4 and Mark isn't even a starter anymore . . . I'll take that bet. PM me with any amount you want.

Of course, you are still hopelessly missing the larger point here: NEITHER Mark Sanchez nor Phillip Rivers has ANY "playoff wins" because WINS is a TEAM statistic. And correspondingly. the fact that both Sanchez and Rivers have 4 playoff "wins" (as if these guys are playing fucking tennis) has no bearing on the fact that Rivers is the far superior quarterback.

Mark Sanchez has helped his team win 4 playoff games in 4 seasons as a starter
Philip Rivers has helped his team win 4 playoff games(really 3) in 8 seasons as a starter

Rivers has consistently had the better teams around him and had the luxury of playing in a weaker division where it was much easier to get a home playoff game and possibly a bye.

He has more playoff "wins," (i.e. his TEAM has won more playoff games) he must have been the better quarterback!!!

Trent Dilfer was a much better quarterback than Dan Marino! Eli is much better than Peyton! Flacco is WAAAAY better than Fouts was! Don't believe me? They have more superbowl rings!!!! How could I be wrong? Who needs logic?

Rivers probably wins 14 games with that 2009 team.

don't confuse many different arguments. while Trent Dilfer was also vital to the success of his team he was obviously not Dan Marino. Dan Marino didn't have the 00 Chargers or Colts around him or he'd have many rings. we are comparing a supposed much better QB to a supposed crappy QB and the supposed crappy QB has had more playoff success despite playing on lesser talented teams in a tougher division.

Dilfer helped the Ravens win a SB. Marino never helped the Dolphins win any!

Eli helps his team win championships at twice the rate that Peyton does! Eli is waaay better.

I'm Junc, I think professional football is singles table tennis.

yep, then goes one and done I postseason. would that have made you feel better?

You think Rivers is better than Favre? favre won 9 games w/ a similar team a year earlier in a year w/o Tom Brady and the easiest sched we have ever had but yeah Rivers wins 14[IMG]

Eli is certainly a better postseason QB than the overrated Peyton. No doubt about that.

The crappy QB had so much playoff success that he is now backing up a second year player. Clearly, TEAM playoff success is not the best way to assess INDIVIDUALS.

again, he is backing up another player b/c he got hurt. if he doesn't get hurt he starts last year and is still a starter and despite playing 4 less seasons on less talented teams in a tougher division he has more playoff wins that he has started and finished than the great Philip Rivers! wow!

What does "postseason QB" even mean? Who is the better QUARTERBACK?

If you were to ask an objective NFL fan, coach, player, GM, etc. to pick between Sanchez and Rivers, you'd get laughed at . . . a lot like you get laughed at on this message board.
