So it was hot and humid, just in case you forgot both teams play in the same weather. Using it as an excuse is pretty weak.
Pats fans are just shocked Bill can't literally cue up cold and snow on demand, it only seems like it sometimes.
I find it interesting that they have had defensive problems for so long. In his early days, BB was a defensive guru. I guess a guru is a just a guy who has enough talent on his team to get to the QB.
The Pats front 7 was not good at all. They definitely have plenty of room to get better. Revis played well IMO. Wallace made a tremendous catch on the TD after Revis reached in and deflected it. Hell! The Pats offense looked like shit most of the game. They couldn't block Wake AT ALL! The only positive for me is that I've seen this early season stuff before. Pats seem to lose a couple of their first 4 or 5 the last few years. I was at the home opener a couple of years ago when the Pats made the Cardinals look like the greatest show on turf.
Too early to judge. Plus, Brady has never done well in Miami. Even his first season after he took over for Bledsoe. He was riding high when he got the shit beat out of him in Miami. I think a lot of teams will need to watch out for that Miami D-Line.
The Pats gave Brady a $57M contract at age 37. That wasn't a cut the middle type deal. If he's stepping down you're going to pay the price for two more years at least. There's an argument the Colts should have kept Manning, however their chances to be a good team in 2016 are dramatically better because they punted on him. I think the Pats are in the same boat.
i watched the tape now and btw mike wallace owned revis all the way, he beated revis on three plays that the ball did not went there and nearly a touchdown and then in the 2ยบ half the official touchdown.
Push the panic button in New England. Last year, your record was inflated, a lot of "gifted wins". Your running game is complete shit, your offensive line has lost one of its truest anchors, amendola sucks, and Gronk is bound go get hurt, again. The AFC east is wide open for the taking. Miami, Buffalo and the Jets are bringing back the running game as focal points to their offenses. New England most glaring defect is their lack of a running game.
Moreno destroyed the Patriots, I don't know if the Miami running game is actually that good or is the Patriots run defense THAT bad.
You guys post this EVERY season after the Pats lose a couple of games early and don't look good. "This is the end of the Pats" Since 2010 the Pats have lost 13 games (prior to yesterday), 10 of those losses have come before November 8. The pats have lost 3 games from November 8 on the past 4 years. That's the time we'll know if their time has passed. One of these years you're gonna be right about them, but it's way too early to go there at this point.
Well if you acknowledge that one of these years we will be right about them finally declining- then it's also way too early to say they aren't. Considering they looked pretty terrible yesterday, I'd say I trust the present more than the past in this instance.
Past history means shit. Your team, this year, looks like it has a lot of holes. This is not a 12-13 win New England football team, that's a joke. Completely ignore the fact that you don't have a running game, that you didn't lose an anchor on the line and that you don't have concerns with Amendola and Gronk (specifically the fact that they are not reliable week in and week out to be 100%). You guys have major problems on offense. I thought the D would be your greatest strength, looks like they might want to stay home and work on some fundamentals; like tackling first.
While it's always nice to see the Patriots lose, I don't know if we can read too much into it at this point. Tom Brady is still top tier until proven otherwise, and it will take more than one bad game to do that. Apparently Belichick decided to run a 3-4 defense even though he has 4-3 personnel, and I'm pretty sure he won't do that again. When Brady is under constant pressure, he won't play at that top level. Their o-line is not what it once was, and they don't have a good group of RBs (average at best), so there are opportunities there for other teams to beat the Patriots if they have a strong enough pass rush and running game. Also, it was interesting that Revis gave up some plays, and even had himself taken out of the game in the 4th quarter due to cramping. I've never heard of him doing that before, he's always in phenomenal shape.
I hear you, it was pretty bad, but it's still so early man. It's tough to gauge a CB by the "eye test" because the cameras only follow them at certain times, but it seemed like a bit of a mixed bag. He got beat by Wallace a couple of times but made a couple of nice plays too. Physically he looked OK. It was a pretty bad day across the board, both offensively and defensively. I'd also say that overall, they didn't seem very aggressive on D. Not a lot of pressure on Tannehill. Pretty disappointing.
