What other CB are you signing? You can't overpay DRC in hopes that you're going to bring in another big time CB. And if you're implying Revis, then that would be an extra stupid move on Idzik's part. Tying up $22 mil in the CB position? That would have actually put us OVER the cap with NO money to roll over into next year. Cromartie was a 30-year-old CB coming off a terrible year with a lingering hip injury. When you're rebuilding, that's not the kind of guy you want to bring on board. Dmitri Patterson on paper, when he played, was more productive than Cromartie. If you're going to take a shot on an injury-prone CB, go with the one who can give you a few more years IMO. Was there any sign whatsoever of Patterson going bat shit crazy that I missed? As far as I know, it's not like it was this guy's MO to disappear and then blame the team. Personally, I would have re-signed Cromartie. But I understand why he was let go. On Revis... if you're going to tell me I have no proof, then you have no proof. If you're going to listen to some horseshit article where one of Revis' friends or whatever is used as the source, then it's not worth talking to you about this. And again, even if that were true I am 100% with Idzik. You don't sign a CB for one year and $12 mil when you can use all 12 of those millions to sign your elite DE for the next 5 years.
