And this is the line of thinking that got us in dire straits with Tanny. Thank god Idzik doesn't think this way or we wouldn't be in as great of a position as we are in right now.

Show me one good team that doesn't have at least one over paid player?

I'll go with Denver and Seattle. Those were the two teams in the Superbowl, FYI.

It's not about overpaying for ONE player. It's about overpaying for a player that isn't really all that good, like a Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Nothing before last year said he was worth what the Giants paid him. Not a thing. You can live with overpaying for DeMarcus Ware when you're the Broncos because a.) he provides A LOT and b.) you very well may be a DeMarcus Ware away from a title.

Who says Jets couldn't be 2 CB away from the Super Bowl?

What other CB are you signing? You can't overpay DRC in hopes that you're going to bring in another big time CB. And if you're implying Revis, then that would be an extra stupid move on Idzik's part. Tying up $22 mil in the CB position? That would have actually put us OVER the cap with NO money to roll over into next year.

You're just pulling things out of your ass right now between this comment and "his drafts haven't been good so far" after his first class his played ONE season and his second class has played ZERO seasons.

If we would had sign Cro for the same we gave DP. O by the way how did the Patterson signing work out? Anyway....plus I think it just stupid that Idzik didn't even talked to Revis when he called. Before you say that was on Woody show me the proof?

Cromartie was a 30-year-old CB coming off a terrible year with a lingering hip injury. When you're rebuilding, that's not the kind of guy you want to bring on board. Dmitri Patterson on paper, when he played, was more productive than Cromartie. If you're going to take a shot on an injury-prone CB, go with the one who can give you a few more years IMO. Was there any sign whatsoever of Patterson going bat shit crazy that I missed? As far as I know, it's not like it was this guy's MO to disappear and then blame the team.

Personally, I would have re-signed Cromartie. But I understand why he was let go.

On Revis... if you're going to tell me I have no proof, then you have no proof. If you're going to listen to some horseshit article where one of Revis' friends or whatever is used as the source, then it's not worth talking to you about this. And again, even if that were true I am 100% with Idzik. You don't sign a CB for one year and $12 mil when you can use all 12 of those millions to sign your elite DE for the next 5 years.

Exactly, so how do you know the Jets didn't talk to him?

Do you have to ruin every thread with your bullshit? We get it, you don't like Idzik and you can't type with proper grammar.

    Move on.

Really psyched and optimistic for this season. I really hope it's a return to the playoffs.

I've been as active as any in the Idzik vs CB position debate but can we maybe not turn this thread into that? This is about football being back and the excitement it brings.

Me and my dad will be at the swamp in person grilling and drinking for this game. Sort of a father-son tradition.
