As much as I hope I'm wrong but I don't think us Jets fans are going to be very happy this season.

I'm definitely excited. Not really anticipating a great season (i.e. not expecting to make the playoffs) but even still, just excited to see the guys in action and get to watch some football!

At least there is hope this year, entering last season it was such a shitty feeling knowing we really didnt have a shot at the postseason. They did make things interesting but it was a flawed squad, this year I think we can get into the postseason again finally.

I personally don't think we have a bad team. Just one that has a rough schedule coupled with what is essentially a pseudo rookie secondary. If we win out and make the playoffs it will be because we put things together earlier than expected, if we don't win we should next year with the young guys a year better, a high draft pick and cap wiggle room. The only thing that really concerns me is Nick and Brick being another year older.

What worries me is Idzik. I just don't think he going to be a very good GM.

I agree, last year u we were in cap hell, had a rookie QB starting before he was ready. The drama of the Sanchez injury. Holmes....feels like the start of great things this year

Passed on overpaying Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, so that makes him a bad GM I guess. Don't you get tired of saying the same thing over and over without ever really having anything to back it up?

Either way, I have tempered excitement and cautious optimism... but deep down I'm excited to see what we put on the field because I think it's going to surprise a lot of people. If Geno is dropping in passes the way he was in the preseason (70% completion) I think our offense can be high-powered. We have the pieces for it.

I think this team is going to be a lot better than people expect. Our offense has some real threats now and as long as our cb situation isn't a glaring hole, we are gonna play smashmouth football with the front 7.

Tell me what he showed you since he took over? I'm not saying go out and over pay for players but so far his draft hasn't been very good overall.

How the fuck would you know that?

What if Calvin Pryor becomes our next Kerry Rhodes? How can you make any of these claims when we haven't played one regular season game

The guy has given us literally the best financial situation in the entire league heading into next year. We will be able to keep every single player we have under contract, give our elite DE a huge contract, bring back anyone we need to bring back on a reasonable deal AND have double-digit millions to spend on other free agents.

That is huge, and you can downplay it but that's reality. We've gone from one of the worst to one of the best in terms of financials in a span of two offseasons and still managed an 8-8 season. Some of that is on Rex too, but considering Idzik ditched Revis to fix the cap situation it should havee made us worse... but he turned Revis into Sheldon Richardson (what were you saying about his drafts?).

If you really need any more convincing:

The top 5 RB duo we have in the backfield? Two Idzik acquisitions.
The best WR available this offseason is now wearing green and white.
The best backup QB available this offseason is also wearing green and white.
Breno Giacomini, highly regarded by Seattle's O-line coaches, brought his ring to NY.
McIntyre, Bellore, Pace, Douzable, Colon... all important pieces in some facet re-signed.
Greg Salas, so far the only standout WR, was signed by Idzik off Philly's PS.

I'm not about to rate draft picks after one season. Doing so would be foolish, unless ya know, they were the defensive rookie of the year, which one of Idzik's picks was last year.

I'm sorry I wouldn't care if Pryor became the next Ronnie Lott 1 out of 12 picks being good means that draft sucked.

I've been pretty critical of our draft this year at times but considering our franchise draft history Idzik is a fucking godsend.

I agree with what you say about about the cap money but what scares me he just seems to cheap. I hope that just him saving money for next season, but we don't know. If he thinks he never going to over pay for a player he wrong already.

Would you have given up one day of your life, today, for kick-off to be in 11 minutes from now?
