This is rich coming from you. You're the prime offender in bringing on the criticism with some of the whacky things you say admittedly intentionally to stir the pot and when dozens of posters call you on it you go on personal insult filled tirades that rival anything posted on this board. And I don't hate to say that. Reading comprehension is not your friend (yeah, I went there). I said nothing about how SHE treated people, I said remembrances of her were how to treat people--ME HERE-- having lost a loved one I leave loved ones, family members, wives, mothers, girlfriends, kids out of it. You accused me on more than one occasion of having gay incestuous sex with my son. Were those just jokes (then haha, HILARIOUS) or were you being serious and personally insulting me? I couldn't tell. Although it may be taken to more extremes on the internet, I am sure more than a few of us would respond to the 250 lb guy with a "Are you fucking kidding me?" even if they didn't know him. There are statements that should be treated with common courtesy and then there are other statements that should be responded to with the appropriate ridicule whether you know the person or not. The thing is, in public a person is just as likely to hold back with the ridiculous Maddenesque trade possibilities or proclamations the Stephen Hill is going to lead the league in receptions this year. This in turn keeps the responses at a civil level. It is not just the "bullying" responses that are changed by the protections of internet anonymity.
Well said, I think that's exactly the dynamic. It's also interesting that the ultimate response for some folks here is the "you'd get your ass kicked" or "you'd never say that to a 250 pound guy" as if being physically larger gives one the right to ask or make inane questions or comments. That if you point out how inane such questions or comments are and the large person can't fashion an appropriately reasonable response, he'll just "kick your ass" and therefore he's "won" the argument. _
Not really surprising that the people least able to defend themselves verbally are the ones that have a problem with the "bullying". What is funny are the intimations of physical violence if this was the "real world". Apologies if that's how you're used to handling things but that doesn't work on the internet. I'd say the real pathetic ones are the grown men that are getting "bullied" when they only have their wits to rely on to defend themselves.
