Who is the better CB ? I really like sherman a lot.. he's def a great player, but i don't think he's better than revis still. Everyone is gushing over the fact Sherman didn't get targeted yesterday.. as if Revis hasn't gone multiple games without being targeted. Revis didn't even break a sweat some games. Even in his "misused" year in TB he was a solid CB. Revis does it without the help AND he can follow your best option all over the field no matter where he's lined up. Sherman can lock down an area (cant even say side bc he does get burned sometimes and Cam saves his ass..Or he lets someone else pick up his guy bc they just got good fuckin chemistry in that great secondary) but cant lock down a whole side AND/OR your best option.

Anyway enough ramming from me who you guys got? I Take The island.

I don't think you can make this argument until Revis plays this year.

We will know a lot about the rest of his career after this season.

And Sherman didn't even break a sweat last night. He finished with 0 targets to him.

Revis and it's not close. Sherman is really good but he has an incredible defense around him and doesn't follow the best WRs around like revis has. Seattle has a great TEAM defense.

If it's prime Revis vs prime Sherman, Revis.

Revis followed the best guy around the field with or without a pass rush, with or without safety help, and stuck to him like glue playing man to man defense. Revis.

Sherman is a still a very talented player and cornerback. Yeah the Packers adjusted around Sherman by just putting Jordy Nelson on the other side. Sherman isn't taking away "1/2" the field, he's taking away the 3rd or 4th option of the Packers play. Revis takes away the #1 option of the play and if test him, it won't work.

I know... something revis is known for doing weekly.. Only times i've seen revis get dealt with was by Stevie Johnson (and most of those were quick slants and safe routes) and somebody in Denver i cant remember if it was Decker or someone else.. But i guess since Sherman would just be entering his prime its only fair to wait til after this year to really say. Revis's 09'-11' years was ridiculous.

2010 Revis was not very good. He was dealing with injuries and was probably his worst year of his career.

Sherman had a very good rookie season, but 2012 was clearly his first dominant year.

Pro Football Focus compared Revis average numbers in 2008, 2009, and 2011, his best years, to Sherman's first year, outside of a rookie, in 2012. The numbers were almost identical. Revis was targeted an average of 93 times and Sherman an average of 87 times. They also graded total within a decimal point of each other. Revis beat him in yardage allowed per catch at 0.8 with Sherman being at 1.07. Revis allowed 41.7% of his passes completed and Sherman allowed 47%.

The two are very very close. It's hard to compare Sherman to Revis because of age. As of right now, Sherman can make an argument for soon becoming more dominant than Revis. His numbers will likely get better and better. He's so young.

If Im starting a team now Im taking Sherman. But Revis is one of the best CB's of all time. Sherman is arguable the best in the league right now but he was never as dominate as Revis was.

Hard to say when Revis is going on his 7th year and Sherman is on his 4th.

Of course Sherman hasn't been as dominant as Revis has been while going into his 7th year.

    And what's Sherman's prime?

We have yet to see it. He's in his 4th year.

Revis is one of the best corners to ever play the game. Sherman is a zone corner with a big mouth.

Thats fuckin amazing... how is that a bad year? im sure those 0's were the results of rarely ever being targeted.

He was dealing with injuries. He had only 30 some odd tackles, compared to his 50+ a year. That's the year he missed all of training camp with a hamstring issue and was the first time he ever missed a regular season game.

Sherman plays one side of the field. Revis covered the absolute toughest target the opposing team had during his Rex years.

Pro Football Focus is one dimensional. Hell, they even denied Revis about 10 pass defenses from his record in 2009 because they had some retard watching his games who didn't know how to judge a PD. I went back and forth with their editor for over a month about it and he wouldn't budge, even though I had proved their stat wrong.

Pro Football Focus isn't an official source of NFL stats for a reason. They have game "analysts" who aren't qualified to collect stats for their analysis subjectively and consistently.

Can u find out how many times he was targeted in those 13 games? Also since you bring tackles into the conversation.. Revis's run support was also another 1up over sherm.

I was just writing what was written on Nfl.com

As one of my first posts indicated, I was not judging pass deflections at all
