It's a 'numbers' game amigo, strictly a numbers game. While I poked fun at Farve with my "Viking uni underneath" crack, I'm not going use this thread on this day (or any other day) to disparage any QBs who wore the Jet green and white let alone HOF QBs. …. imagine…..

Fwiw, I knew very, very well who Farve was during his playing days at Hattiesburg with the very underrated Jeff Bowers - two guys who were "peas & carrots" good together and was very amped as it appeared the Jets (and Ron Wolf) were set on picking him. However history dealt the Jets yet another bad-luck dirt sammich. Besides Browning Nagle himself, review the Jets '90 draft (and suplemental draft and draft position impacts) as well as the 1991 draft and you'll want to throw up.

    1990
1st round: Blair "I already had a serious knee operation while playing on grass at PSU" Thomas
2nd round: Reggie Rembert <---- Stephen Hill 1.0

    1991
1st round: none ('90 supplemental draft Rob Moore - liked the guy but was not worth the pick).
2nd round: Browning Nagle (one measly pick behind Farve)
    3rd: round Mo Lewis

Imagine a 1991 draft of: Brett Farve and Mo Lewis. SMH.

And speaking of HOF QBs, oh the irony of Mo Lewis' impact on the AFC East (and Jet fortunes).

*off to go throw up* hahaha…

    New Avy check :D

What's everyone's Week 1 tailgating rituals? I'll be in the building with a crew of friends, we're looking to tailgate the proper way.

I recall Foley with the huge upset against Notre Dame or Michigan or some team BC had no chance against.

Notre Dame, I think it was a week after ND upset FSU in 1993 or they would have been playing for a Nat'l Title.

It was and that was the year after Notre Dame looked to run up the score by faking a punt when they were already up 40 points (either Holtz or an assistant called it) en route to a 54-7 blowout at ND in 1992. That low brow move was probably on Holtz because ND's first string defense was still in the game with less than 6:00 minutes to go - someone was looking to embarrass someone. Sidebar: the movie "Rudy" was filmed during halftime of that game.

BC obviously wanted revenge big time and got it in '93.

Sidebar: when BC was to meet ND in the Liberty Bowl in the 1980's a local sports anchor from WPIX Ch. 11 (Jerry Girard) gave his humorous take on the game:
"Tonight, Notre Dame meets Boston College down in Memphis in the Liberty Bowl.....winner goes to heaven."

Incredibly, some humorless jerks actually called WPIX to complain about Girard's "irreverence."
(Girard, a Manhattan College grad was a Roman Catholic himself).

This Day In History: Filming Rudy (1992 vs. Boston College)
Though the movie Rudy was shot over the course of several weeks, it was during halftime of Notre Dame’s 1992 game against Boston College, that the famous final scene was filmed. After the Fighting Irish and Eagles went to their respective locker rooms, the movie’s film crew and actors emerged to re-create the 1975 game between Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, in which Rudy Ruettiger (‘76), a 5-foot-6 walk-on registered a sack in the final play of his college career. Starring actor Sean Astin, Rudy was the first movie to be shot on campus since Knute Rockne, All-American in 1940. Rudy premiered on Oct. 13, 1993, and is widely regarded as one of the best sports films ever made.

Yes, it is from the 1991 game to beat Miami that got us in the playoffs.

Selling sizes ranging from XXS - to - S.

Sidebar: JS, speaking of Syracuse kickers you don't happen to know (former All-American) George Jakowenko (Bills, Raiders) by chance do you?

    Lol.

No, I do not. What year was he?

The only kickers I knew were Jacobs and Gary Anderson. Anderson took over after Jacobs left and his first two kickoffs went out of bounds--D'OH! We were a bit perturbed but he became a great kicker for us and a likely HOFer. Good dude, was in one of my Management classes junior year.
