This is ESPN Standard League with 12 teams. QB's Pass TD - 4 pts Pass TD - 6 pts Rush TD - 6 pts Rest is standard ESPN scoring. Since QB's get only 4 pts per TD, I am leaning towards not picking up a QB early. What should my strategy be for the first 6 picks? I am leaning towards below picks. What says you? WR-WR-RB-RB-QB-TE
I wouldn't reach on RB at that spot unless something crazy happens. I ended up there in one of mine and got Dez and AJ. Unless you REALLY love like a Demarco Murry or Leveon Bell this year, I'd just take the easy money if it's there.
Hi Milo Thanks for the suggestion. I am also leaning towards picking 2 stud WR's at 11th and 14th spots. Dez, AJ or another beast WR should drop. After Lacy, RB's really drop big time. So I don't want to reach. What do you say about the QB? Shall I pick a QB in Round 3 or wait until later rounds.
He will be my pick if he survives until 11. Hopefully I can pick AJ Green and Dez Bryant with my first two picks. I am 100% pisitive about AJ but not so sure about Dez due to freaking Romo.
I drafted AJ and Dez at 12/13 in 12-ppl league. I would take QB and TE later than you're planning. The only exception is if Payton or JG falls to you. The problem with QBs and TEs this year is that beyond 2 top at each, the rest are pretty much average. So if you can't grab Payton or Rodgers, you might as well wait until 7th round. You'll still have Cutler, Dalton, Romo, Kaep available. Same with TEs. I'd rather spend 5 and 6 picks on quality FLEX and backup.
Thanks MS Thanks RJF My 2 questions. Shall I pick Chris Johnson at all or will Ivory steal TD's from him? Also what do you guys thing Rashad Jennings in 3rd or 4th Round?
I make a point of not drafting Jets players unless they fall waaaay low. Johnson or Ivory in 6th -- sure, but that's not likely to happen plus Jets have no clear no 1 back so you'll be playing guessing game each week. Jennings maybe ok, but not in 4th. Giants problem with O line affects not just Manning, but run blocking as well. The good thing about Jennings is that Giants will run the ball a lot, and that he is a clear no 1 back. The risk is that he might run shitload, but for 2.5 ypc it won't help you much. In 3 or 4 I'd rather get TEN's RB (Sankey, I think is his name) and e NO's Thomas.
Here's my deal Brooks (and I'm a noobie FF player). No Pats. Fuck them all and I'd never want to be in a position to have to root for anything good to happen to any of them. No Jets. I want to watch my team for the sheer pleasure (or pain) of watching them. Don't want to pull for one player over another. I guess the only Jet I'd pick is the defense. _
Depends how your draft goes and what the scoring rules are brook. In my standard redraft league I took Jennings in the 4th. I didn't think he woulda lasted past that but your draft might go down differently. If you take Jennings make sure you handcuff him with Williams. They both looked good in preseason. My other league is dynasty ppr auction. I signed Ivory and Johnson to 1 year deals for flex play/RB depth. CJ will be a good. He's a home run hitter, Ivory getting goal line shouldn't matter. And we run the ball a lot. In ppr he'll be even better. He's been overlooked because he's a Jet now but I think it's a sneaky good pickup. Edit- just wanna add that Giants situation is not solid IMO Williams is better and it could end up being more of a timeshare down the road than we envision
Greg Jennings? And what do you mean by handcuff him with Williams? Sorry, still learning the lingiddy. _
Rashad the RB from the Giants. Handcuff means stashing the backup in case the starter gets injured. Say Rashad goes down, I'm out a starting RB and the rest of the league will scramble to add Andre Williams from waivers, I probably won't get him. Now I only do this in cases where the backup is good and could come in and produce. This is only done for rb's, it's like insurance.
Ahhh, got it. Ok, so I've got the waiver wire tonite and since I drafted last, I have first dibs on the waiver. I'm thinking about adding another backup QB (Flacco is my backup but I'm feeeling a bit uneasy (so my choices are Tannyhill and Alex Smith). Another RB (I have Bush, Spiller and Sproles) and I'm thinking either Donald Brown, Lagarette Blount (figuring I'm good for 4 weeks), Roy Helu or Andre Williams. WR I'm thinking Greg Jennings or Harry Douglas. Thoughts? _
