Oh boy. You know Wilkerson's agent is creaming his pants reading this. 16 million per season. Wilkerson is probably going to want close to that but no way Idzik gives him more than 13.

I agree, only way he gets more is if he ends up with a 20 sack season.

Still not bad if the jets can lock him up for 4-5 years.

we should have signed before and knowing our Gm its gonna be a tough stretch to get mo wilk under contract. I feel like Idzik is gonna propose 10 M a year and mo and his agent will laugh at his face lol.

The only thing that surprises me is that JJ Watt wasn't among the highest paid players in the league before today.

Love Mo Wilk but he's not in Watt's league. Watt is the best pass rusher in today's game. His worst season equals Mo's best.

If Mo goes out this year and has a 15 sack season then I think he'll get paid 12+ per season. Still should not even sniff the yearly average or guaranteed $$ that Watt is getting though.

$51 million guranteed for one of the top top players in the league. Dude always gives it his all.

Heard a stat on ESPN this am, there are 70 MLB players with higher guaranteed contracts.

The nice thing about the timing of this is that we have the 2014 season for Mo Wilk to make his case for a similar deal. It would have really sucked if the Texans signed Watt to that deal in February and left the Jets and Mo in opposite corners staring at each for the entire off season.

JJ Watt is apparently the most beloved athlete in Houston. He really is the franchise.

Was the same thing with Joe Klecko here in NY. When a player gives 100% flat out effort all the time and becomes a wrecking ball in the process it's hard not to love him. I hope Watt has better luck with the injuries than Klecko did because the play style comes with a price in terms of wear and tear.

His stats have gone down a good bit tho. Cushing needs to stay healthy and Clowney gotta come into his own to take some of the heat away from JJ.

And for good reason. I saw a story on ESPN (by accident of course) about him spending a lot of time with 3 kids that were paralyzed and lost their parents in a car crash. You dont fake being that good of a person. Really became a fan of this guys after seeing that segment.

Cushing is going to have a hard time staying healthy with all the juice he's been on. Would anyone be shocked if he had another season ending ligament issue?

Saw him in his final HS football game for BC at Giant Stadium in the NJ State Championship (Matt Simms was the DB quarterback).

Best HS performance I've ever seen live. Dude was all over the field on O, D and STs.

Watts the real deal, he is a real team player, cares for the team, looked sad all year when they were losing. Not to bring up Revis again, but for as great as Revis was, he never showed the team dedication that Watt shown, and that was evident after the AFC Championship game.
