I would have been impressed with the job the team has done IF they had managed the CB situation better- its is scary to think that we are starting the season with this as our secondary.
New York Jets @nyjets 3m We have signed LB A.J. Edds and released CB Ellis Lankster. What the fuck? Lanskter is such a great special teams player and he's a one of about 2 corners on our team that at least knows how to play the position. I like signing Edds back because we need more ILBs but what the hell makes cutting Lanskter a good idea?
Wow lots of changes going on. I would have thought Lankster was a lock to be on the team week 1. Lets see how that secondary plays out.
Give it some time. Remember, when Idzik worked in Seattle, the amount of roster moves they made early on I believe was in the hundreds. Lankster could be picked back up tomorrow.
If Milliner can't play on Sunday, I thought there was a good chance Walls and Lankster would be the starting corners (given that Rex has refused to move Wilson from the inside the past 2 years).
Don't understand the decisions today at all. We released a 6th round pick only to sign another one as our 7th receiver then dump a great special teams player. Why do we need 7 receivers on the 53?
A gunner runs down the field like a bat out of hell on the outside of the punt team to track the returner. It has nothing to do with playing cornerback.
Idk if you guys watched the Eagles game but man Lankster looked lost... absolutely lost giving up play after play... yes we're thin but man the guy was just a scrub
this is a real head scratcher. unless allen is going to be cleared and they are more confident about millner than they are letting on.
this has to be the worst part about being an NFL player. Getting cut after an evaluation period is just fine, you knew this could happen and its a part of the deal. but the jerking around that comes afterward has to be excruciating and confusing.
