I had a feeling that Dixon would get signed by another team. I think the Jets should have kept him over Lequan and Bush.
So since we only signed 7 to the ps, does that mean we're still going to sign 3 more guys? If not, then why not? Rex always says he would love to keep everybody.
Might be dead wrong but, seems to me just based on their PS selection, that there are a couple of more signings coming our way. In all likelihood pushing perhaps two more from the active roster to the practice squad before the game Sunday.
We'll eventually get to 10. I'd guess were at 7 right now because we plan on putting 1 possibly 2 of the guys currently on our 53 on the PS. Lewis could be a possibility after being released today and Enunwa would be a candidate if we grab Meecham or another vet receiver. I think we still add at least one more guy before game 1.
Anyone know why Buffalo cut punter Brian Moorman? I know he's up there in age but he's made a few pro bowls. If he's not injured and not looking to retire I think he'd be an upgrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think this is the best roster we could have put together this year. I like the way it looks as of now, and am really happy we were able to get Simms back.
Yeah, having Simms back really raises our chances for a playoff year. I LOVE that we have a third string QB on the practice squad. Oh man, it makes me all warm inside.
Did I reference having Simms on the PS as a reason that would increase our playoff chances? If you mistook my post then I accept your apology. If you're being an ass for the sake of being an ass, I have no patience for it.
I like Simms on the PS, hopefully some of what the FO wants Vick to do for Geno rubs off on Simms and we don't have to draft a QB next year, back-up or otherwise.
Does anyone have clarification on the rules of PS eligibility this year? I'm also glad to have Simms back. He's definitely improved drastically since he came out college. Hopefully he can still get better. If it wasn't for those seeming bridge-burning comments by Hill's representation, I wouldn't have been upset if he was brought back to the practice squad. And I have to agree with other posters who suggested that at least one or two of the open PS spots are to make room for guys signed to the active roster. I could see another WR taking the place of Enunwa
Simms stinks. He could have gone somewhere else and our franchise would have never felt the effects of it. Let's put it this way... if we are in a position where we need to start our 3rd string QB/practice squad QB, we are going to lose no matter who it is. Simms just... isn't that good. He's on a practice squad for a reason.
I saw speculation somewhere that guys like McIntyre might be brought back after week 1 when his salary is no longer guaranteed. That might bump IK or Reilly to the PS. Eventually the team will need to make room for Barnes but I doubt they're keeping a PS spot open for 6+ weeks.
The fact that we still have 3 open spots in the PS tells me there is a bit more tinkering yet to go. Barnes spot non withstanding, I speculate a couple of the guys in the current roster will find their way into the PS. McIntyre could very well come back after week one, but its just as likely we are still looking at added strength in CB and WR. How the secondary and special teamers play on week one might dictate further moves. All that non withstanding, I feel pretty good about our rooster overall, hope injuries do not raise their ugly head. Surprise players that will make a big difference and exceed our expectations for 2014 IHMO are...AA, Amaro, Pryor and non other than Geno Smith. Let the season begin. Cant wait. Good luck to all Jet fans. It's us against the world...and the crappy media
Yup he wrote an open letter to fans and while he didn't use the word "retire" it sounds like he's done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Knew this was coming. @Brian_Bassett: Jets sign CB Adams, release WR Enunwa http://t.co/DGa0RfhUIq #Jets #NFL Enunwa belongs on the PS for this year. Nice addition to the CB room.
