Probably won't remember getting cut and will show up for practice tomorrow. They're going to have to tell him he's been cut every day for a week!
Hill has looked considerably worse vs. his competition. Big difference. Also, Glauber says Hill will be traded or released shortly.
@BrianCoz: The Jets will waive WR Stephen Hill, according to a source #nyj There it is. Good riddance.
Bob Glauber ✔ @BobGlauber Looks like Jets WR Stephen Hill will be traded or released shortly. Cleveland may be interested.
My point is they said every position will have to be earned not given to them. Did Vick get a fair chance?
The 53 man roster we will end today with will not be the "final" 53 I'd expect 2-3 additions in the next few days
@RapSheet: The #Jets are planning to waive WR Stephen Hill, source said. May still try to trade him, since it’s before the deadline. What team would actually give something up for this guy? I'd be shocked to get a soda machine in return.
Vick was brought in as insurance in case Geno was not ready to go. He was the guy who would play for the Jets if Geno could not. I am really glad we have him. He's been a big plus for the team so far in terms of how he has handled the QB "competition" and he is available to step in and play at a moment's notice if the need arises. If the Jets go anywhere this year Vick will be one of the MVP's of the team and that is true even if he never steps on the field.
The Jets might be trying to trade him for somebody they like who they believe will be a cut somewhere else. Avoid the waivers process and lock up a guy you really want.
Hill's draft day feels like yesterday. He looked like a bright kid who, most importantly, looked HAPPY to be a Jet. I liked his post draft interview, and felt he could be my next favorite player. It just never happened. At all. Like not even a little bit. Sad.
The Jets drafted a track star who muscled up a bit to block in GT's option offense. He was a one-trick pony in college. You live and learn. Never draft a prospect up high. Draft a player there instead. Hill would have been a great 6th round pick.
What I don't get is we drop a project like Hill after 2 season but still keep Kyle Wilson who everybody said was pro ready.
