he had a rough night but he has improved. I think he can be a good primary backup at some point and I want him to be here for a while doing that.

I am fine with him being a backup but he can do it from the practice squad. I don't think he deserves a roster spot and don't see teams rushing to sign him to their active rosters.

I think Simms with better talent around him would look a lot better than he did last night. He still has work to do, but he wasn't terrible.

Hill is horrid, he should be escorted out of the building and his uniform burned.

hes not making the team. honestly, there is no reason to keep trying to develop him. he has habits, such as catching the ball with his body, that should have been broken in high school. his route running is atrocious. he jumps for balls that any decent receiver will catch in stride, since his hands are two bricks. he gets minimal separation from corners. i mean you could go on and on about the flaws in his game, but the bottom line is hes too far from being anything decent.

this shouldnt shock anyone, btw. he was a huge reach. he played on a team that never threw, i mean his career high at GT was 28 receptions. thats pitiful. and yes i know they ran an offense that ran like 80% of the time but still, the guy was wide open anytime they threw to him and he STILL couldnt catch. hes a lost cause, unfortunately

I thought he was pretty bad, and I've been one of his biggest supporters here. Most of his passes were either high or behind or both, he wasn't very aware in the pocket and his footwork was for shit. Could have been that he just had a bad game, but his play was night and day worse than any other time I've seen him.

Simms did not look good last night at all. And I really do like Simms a lot. Had to be just an off night.. But in the NFL
with 16 games you just cant have bad days.

Hill has no place on this team. Time to admit the mistake and cut bait. Hakim provides much more value as a bottem end receiver on ST.

ALSO, no need to keep Simms on the 53 at this point. Go with 2 QBs on the roster and stash Boyd or Simms, whomever the FO likes better, on the practice squad. I'm sure both would clear through waivers.

Roster spots are too valuable in today's nfl to carry 3 qbs, especially for a team like the jets who lack a lot of top end talent.

I wonder if Simms tanked the game so he would be more likely to clear waivers and be the #2 qb here next year after Vick is gone.

Yeah, I'm hoping Simms well make it through waivers, Boyd doesn't look like an NFL QB at all, he basically threw a deep interception that the defender handed to Clyde Gates in the EZ, aside from that he was a grocery store employee playing against other grocery store employees.

The Jets need a pocket passer for their show team, Simms is that guy.

I actually think Byz was complimenting you as an elite, you're one of the funnier dudes on this board, some of your quips are classic and I think he was goodnaturedly mocking you because he felt your quip wasn't quite up to your normal standards.

But I could be completely wrong.

At least you're not blaming everybody and everything else except Simms for his poor showing.

If he tanked, which I find pretty unlikely, it probably wasn't so he could remain a Jet.

That's not the way I roll. When a player looks like shit then the criticism is deserved.

Hill certainly didn't do himself any favors last night, Though he handled himself pretty well with the questions thrown at him after the game. ( He had more of these thrown at him then actual footballs ).

No one else really stepped it up either so will be tough call for the coaching staff here. Clyde Gates is one of the luckiest WRs I've ever seen play haha. I really hope he gets picked up somewhere else.

Will be interesting next couple of days. Wouldn't be surprised if they keep 7 WRs since no one really separated, and see what shakes loose from the CB market. ( either via trade or cuts )

I wish Enuwa got more of a chance to play. I would have liked to see more of him. Although, Shaq Evans getting hurt ended up helping the Jets out a bit. Hopefully one or both can join the receiving squad next year.

I dont want Hill and I dont want Gates. And I hate the idea of having a separate KR and PR, especially considering how watered down kick returns are. So I think I'd let Hakim go as well.

    Decker
    Kerley
    Nelson
    Salas
    Saunders

If we had to keep 6, I'd probably pick Hill. But only because Evans is hurt, and Enuwa hasnt shown enough.

Funny I just mention him, Antone Smith last night breaks 4 tackles on screen pass and takes it for 70 yard TD. Jacquizz 2 carries for 2 yards. Guess who still gonna be 4th string this season...

Hakim is pretty likely to make it due to his STs play.
