Chris Johnson. If there is one guy on this team that everyone should be excited to watch it's him. From what I have seen in the preseason, the notion that he is "washed up" was a load of garbage. 1400+ total yards last season in an offense that lost their starting QB for more then half the season. He is the kind of player that instead of picking up a nice 20 yard run, will turn it into a fucking amazing 65 yard TD. Can't wait to see him play this season. I'm getting to that point with Geno too. If he carries over his play from preseason to the regular season then we are in for a special year at the QB position. It's been a long time since I have watched our QB play and anticipated receptions and TD's instead of incompletions and turnovers. Hopefully this is the year.
We've got a good core foundation of the team with a bunch of exciting players at their positions. If Geno pans out then it just takes one smart draft and FA and the team could be very complete for starters. Then maybe a few of these depth scrubs could even turn into depth without the scrub qualifier and the team could even sustain a key injury or two without falling apart. Who knows I thought Winters was a piece of shit pick especially when Warford was picked right in front of him and it would've been so easy to trade up, but here we are the guy has actually shown a little life so far this year. Maybe something similar could happen to 2 or 3 of the 9 nobodies that just got drafted by next year like it did in Seattle. To me that's a little light, call me an optimist.
