I am mixed on it. I would really love to see the 80s helmet w/ our current darker green. I think that would look great.
Ken was my favorite player despite my criticism. I can see things more clearly now than I could back then. Good player but vastly overrated on this board and the funny thing was Jet fans treated him like Sanchez back in the late 80s/early 90s so I wonder if Jet fans will soften on Mark in the decades ahead? anyway on to #7. 7 Ken O'Brien- a rare shot wearing green at the meadowlands in the 80s Chuck Clements
that looks like LT in that photo - there is an old NFL films clip of LT sacking Obrien and him saying something to him on the ground.."Son, you are.." i could never make out his entire comment.
that was from a preseason game when he said "son, you gonna have to do better than this" or something like that. this photo is from 1984 reg season game. about the 3:56 mark
good call man.......thanks. didnt know that was a preseason gig. makes sense him using the "son" word since it was KB's second year. haha - even then LT knew he was holding the ball too long.
Sept. 7, 2014: if 6 were 9…. RAY LUCAS #6 (1998-2000, QB, Rutgers) MARK SANCHEZ #6 (2009-2013, QB, USC)
best postseason QB in team history most playoff wins most road playoff wins most title game apps most div rd wins most underappreciated player in history of the franchise 6 Mark Sanchez
gotta say i support ur view about MS for the most part - not sure about the under appreciated part - but nonetheless those 1st 2 years count. really a shame the drop off he experienced along with the team. the perfect storm that really can only be orchestrated by our ny jets.
Most underappreciated player In franchise history could be George Sauer, Matt Snell, Al Atkinson, Gerry Philbin, Ralph Baker, Marty Lyons, LanceMehl, Wesley Walker, Curtis Martin, Joe Fields, Dan Alexander, Larry Grantham, Randy Rasmussen, Joe Klecko...or about 25 others but not him
I would say guys like Philbin, Mehl, Fields, Grantham are worthy. guys like Wesley, Wayne were vastly overrated by Jet fans and the others are very much appreciated.
