While it's held true in the past let's hope that the new regime is smart enough to simply cut ties and realize their mistake before getting rid of another player that could contribute.
That's so wrong. Maybe 20 years ago but not anymore. Do you live under a rock or something? The Internet alone is flooded with draft sites that break down tons of players. You can go to draft countdown and get a scouting report on some dude from west slapdick state like its nothing. That's just the Internet and people doing that stuff for fun. Imagine the guys that are making the big bucks and looking all year long. The scouts know everyone. They aren't getting phone calls from coaches..or drafting via favors.. "Oh I never heard of him" that's not true. Anyone remotely draft able they know about
You also gave mouth to dick to most of the failures on the Bills roster. Your opinion is worth a mosquito turd.
When I first opened the thread and chose my poll option I was still being optimistic. I said multiple TD's but as many have already posted, 1 big scrimmage game showing isn't going to change the minds of the Jets coaching staff. He has so much potential but honestly Fuck Hill. He can't catch for shit. That's his job and he can't do it. Period. But. Salas seems to be the one to take his roster spot. But Salas is not the same type of receiver from what I understand. Salas is a well rounded route runner with steady hands and shifty moves but he's not a burner and not a big red zone target. Salas is a perfect depth guy that can get game time but doesn't really bring anything to the table that Decker, Kerley, and Nelson can't already do. I would almost rather see Gates get that roster spot because he is more of a deep threat that this WR core is lacking. But then when it comes to Gates vs Hill you more than likely want Hill.... In conclusion (im drunk) I just wish Hill would finally be the guy we drafted him to be. He was a project from the start. Now it's time .
Outperform Salas for one thing. I've been on the Salas hype train for a while, but to be fair we haven't seen much of him against the starters this year if I remember right. If he gets say 7 catches for 100 yards it'll be tough to cut him, unless Salas breaks out for even more
I remember reading if you extrapolated Stephen Hill's stats against the Bills over a 16 game season he would average 1678 yards and 13 TDs. For all the praise that Gillmore [rightfully] gets, I do think its funny that he can't seem to cover the 6th best receiver on our team.
I know where you're coming from, but if Stephen Hill scored 3 TDs and had 100+ yards catching, I would want him on the team.
Hard to know how precarious his spot is. My guess is unless this game is a disaster for him and Salas is unbelievable, they still keep Hill. If we're going to keep an insurance receiver who will likely be inactive most weeks, Hill is a better option than Salas. If we actually will need someone to play, then Salas becomes more appealing. Either way, Hill is the incumbent. This thread should really be how big a game does Salas need.
Im not so sure considering Hill was a Rex pick. To me if it comes down to him or Salas getting the last WR spot I send Hill on the first bus outta here. Him or Gates/Hakim? Well in that case I think I might rather just keep Hill and roll the dice.
Bob Glauber - Newsday, 8/26 "I don't want to say he's been outstanding,'' Ryan said Tuesday, "but it's been pretty good.'' "Sorry, that's not how a coach talks about someone he plans on keeping. Especially one whose praise of most players is often over the top." Yup, talking about Hill.
Rex loves WR's that can block. I would bet he pushed for him hard the same way he pushed for Coples in the same draft. Its even come out that Hill would've been our 1st round selection in 2012 if Coples was taken. Think about that for a second.
Also from the Glauber piece: " Ryan doubted that from the start, conceding in an interview during Hill's first camp that he wasn't on board with the pick."
"Right now, I like the way he plays." "He's gonna be an excellent player, I really think that," Ryan said. Yup, talking about Gholston.
