    He wouldn't snag any ints.

He'd lead the league in penalties though...

It is kind of insulting to CB's to assume you could just plug a random WR into a CB spot and he would succeed. I am sure it is more complicated. Too complicated for Hill to just randomly attempt too. Going from safety to CB is tough enough for a guy like Antonio Allen.

Yeah, that was a fluke day for that entire embarrassment of an offense. For one day though, they looked like they could be the next Greatest Show on Turf!

Yea but as there is no way he is on this roster September 7th, what do we have to lose... He won't be taking time away from anybody worthwhile at CB since all the starters and their backups are going to be on the bench. I feel like we should try and get some use out of him rather than just dump him.. Its a win-win in my eyes...

Either we dump him = Win
    Good at CB = Win

People work their entire lives nonstop training in the weight room and practicing on field, then relentlessly studying film trying to adjust their technique at cornerback. It's one of the hardest positions to play in the game with all the rules in favor of receivers and the dynamic QBs in the league. To make it as a corner professionally is almost impossible, there are 64 starting outside corners out of thousands of thousands with the aspiration. To suggest that a WR can just switch sides of the ball and become one of the best at the position in the world is just silly and disrespectful. It's somewhat different with Allen because he's adapted to playing man coverage.

besides qb, corner is the hardest position to play. i don't see him having any success at cb.

It's worth trying him out at the position, he doesn't have to be Revis, just better than... no one else we have at the moment. (Walls was taken out of practice today with a possible injury)

Our CB's are dropping like flies, we're not asking him to cover the number 1's, just stay close to someone.

    No.

There are going to be 50 guys on practice squads and another 50 unsigned free agents who are college trained and experienced defensive backs that are better than Hill at DB. Another 200 in the Canadian and Arena leagues. And 300 guys in college who'll eventually be better.

He has never covered a receiver, has never tackled a player, has never read a QBs eyes, has never played in any type of defensive scheme.

It's like all those suggestions "hey, why don't we sign Usain Bolt to be our WR?!?"

So it takes Kyle Wilson 5 years to turn his head, Stephen Hill ? Years to become a receiver and we are now expecting him to cover who, exactly? The guy is a track athlete. That's it

He's a terrible receiver I agree. That said, I've seen teams trade busts ( SF and Chiefs swapped Jenkins and another former first round bust). I would even take a 6th for him. He's got measurables and there are teams that will certainly kick his tires if/when we cut him.

"Well, I didn't try to trade him." - Rex on Hill. Rex also says this is the first he is hearing of it #Jets

Interesting,.. Where did these stories come from anyway. I know Shefter posted originally but I've not seen a source. He's usually pretty reliable though.
