I think he will be on the opening day roster as well. Not saying he belongs, but I think they won't outright cut him. But a trade is an interesting idea if possible
Yea wr's that have shown the ability to catch have taken advantage of working with brady. We don't have anyghing to worry about here
C'mon bro - Trumaine McBride is 5-9, 185 throw that piece of shit out of the way. He defender can't put any contact on you 5 yards down the field. Awful route running also. LMAO @ that stutter step - who is that fooling? No wonder this guy never gets open.
i always advocate for the patient route with young players, so i wanted to see what hill had to offer this training camp ... with 90 camp spots, why the fuck not? but hill has shown absolutely nothing this pre-season ... greg salas has shown an ability to catch the ball cleanly and make people miss after the catch. nelson, hakim, and gates have special teams value our pass catching pecking order is something like decker, kerley, amaro, cumberland, salas, nelson (i think salas is better than nelson), hill ... in other words, he is our 7th or 8th option in the passing game. with no special teams value, what would be the point of keeping hill on the roster? none ... he competed and lost, its time to move on
Hill playing Thursday is a bad sign, but it is also a big chance for him to show how good he can be. Even if Nelson starts over Hill (which he should) Hill can still continue to improve hopefully. However, Hill could also flop on Thursday and find himself on the street come Friday. He could be the most intriguing player to watch this Thursday at Philadelphia.
No he can't catch for shit either. He cost us the Patriots game the first time around (So did Geno in the 4th)
yea but he shouldnt have been in that position in the first place. hes a bottom of the unit, special teams and screen guy. hes not someone that can make catches in any sort of traffic ... if you throw an alley oop to someone with a 20" vert, the results arent going to be good
I believe he can be an assset in the run game. I think he's an above average blocker. I would like to know what position did Hill play in high school that enabled him to earn a D1 scholarship? If he was a receiver then that means he can catch and may be experiencing some serious anxiety issues. Maybe he should switch to safety...but he seems a tad soft??? With his size and speed...he could probably be a great safety if the great Rex Ryan coached him up.
Well this speaks volume about our GM and possibly our HC view of Hill's future. Not very promising, so short of a spectacular improvement, he is on his way out of here at the latest after this year.
I say let Hill play Thursday at CB for 4 quarters and see what happens.. Best case scenario.....he is a monster. Swatting balls down with his chest every play.
I felt this thought deserved a thread of its own. I was thinking...what is always said about safeties and corner backs?...They would be receivers if they could catch. With Hill's height and speed and Rex coaching him up...who knows??? This could save his career. He doesn't seem to like contact very much so that is my only issue with this thought...what do you think?
I just suggested that in the Stephen Hill thread.. Play him at CB the whole game Thursday.. Nothing to lose.. I don't think he will be able to move his hips fast enough, but he will be able to catch back up to WR's with his speed similar to Cromartie.. Deff not safety though as he would get steamrolled.
