We need to add a quality corner NOW! Especially if Idzik truly feels we can win now...

exactly who is going to give up a quality cb 2 weeks before the season?
this "we need to make a trade" like it is that easy and positions we need are that readily available is annoying as hell. give it a rest. the cuts and waivers will be mined, we might poach a player from someone's practice suad but this idea that we are going to acquire a cb2 in the last week is nuts

Would the Rams be crazy to deal for a QB due to injuries? NO!

Why is it nuts to deal for a player when we have serious injuries and lack of depth?

The Bengals have 5 starting corners!!! Why wouldnt they let 1 go for a pick? He wouldnt be playing anyways...

1 is a rookie and the and 1 is 30. in a league with a 100% injury rate, why would the bengals sacrifice depth at this point in a season where they have a chance to make a playoff run? bengals aren't dealing, and i doubt the rams make a trade for there starting qb this late in the game too

Rookie? So what! Dee was a rook last year and he started... They would still have depth in front of Dennard if they choose to deal.

I think a guy like Adam Jones wouldnt make a big difference for the Bengals but a huge stop gap for us.

In our first 7 games we face the 3 best QB's in the league in Peyton, Rodgers and Brady!! Plus add Cutler with Marshall and Jeffery and Stafford with Megatron!!!!!!!!

We could easily be 1-6 if our starting corners are Kyle Wilson, Darrin Walls and a banged up Dee Milliner.

but why does cinci care about any of that? all they care about is getting past peyton or brady or both. weakening the secondary before the season starts probably isn't going to be one of their moves. of course we could blow them away but do you want to give a 1st or even 2nd for pacman?

    1st or 2nd.. NO.

TBH i think they would take a 4th and run to the bank considering our schedule. Bottom line after my analysis they would be by far the best team to target in a trade.

We certainly could get lucky and some team out there releases a good corner that has a bloated contract that they dont want BUT thats less likely then trading for a vet.

you are not looking at it from cinci's p.o.v. they gain nothing in 2014 by dealing an able body cb for a draft pick in 2015. especially when they are front runners for the division. our schedule doesn't mean shit to them.

Are you talking about Pacman Jones? If so, have you lost your mind? I'd rather have Ras-I Dowling, the rookie 6th round pick, or one of the WRs play CB than bring that POS Jones to the team.

So we should just pack it in and go with what we have and get destroyed by the QBs I listed earlier?

Cinci's POV they won't use him much this year and will loose him for nothing next year anyways.. At least now they would get MAX value for him now! Plus they have way to much money tied up at corner!

PAC MAN can still play.. Not my top choice but I'm looking at a realistic stop gap for us.. We are proper fucked at corner and with the talent at QB and WR we face in our first 7 games a vet like him could step in and play in a RR d easily coming from a ML d.

    I'm desperate here

Obviously. LOL. This team isn't going deep into the playoffs this year even if they make the playoffs, which is questionable at best. I think it would be nuts to panic and trade any future draft picks to try to address a short-term need. That's not the way to build a team.

You know I luv my draft picks being a draft junkie but when we are in dire straights we need to make a move. IMO the AFC is wide open besides the Broncos. I truly think we need to add someone to help us now.

The talent we face in our first 7 weeks at the QB position is very tough and if we could even be 4-3 after those first 7 gruelling weeks I think we have a shot at the playoffs.

This team is deep and has good talent at every position but corner.. It's a deep glaring hole that teams will expose. Currently our 1-2 is Wilson and Walls lol even if Dee comes back he's playing on ankle vs Peyton, Brady and Rogers who will shred them no matter how good our front 7 and safety's are.. Cutler with Marshall and Jeffery will destroy them... stafford and Megatron will be unstoppable...

We need help or will get blown out and be 2-5 at best 7 games in..

To begin with there's no guarantee that we would wind up 2-5. Milliner should be back by game 1 or 2 of the season. Unless Patterson has some kind of major problem, or can't stay healthy. They should be OK. Allen should be back by then and then there's Walls. Even if the Jets did wind up 2-5 at that point, would the world end if that happened? No. We do not need to make a move involving trading future draft picks. I'm not for sacrificing the future for this season. If Idzik didn't go all in and spend FA $s when he had a ton of cap space to bring in one of the CBs, what makes you think he is going to trade away future draft picks for a short-term stop gap CB? If he did, he should get run out of town and never work as an NFL GM again. I'm sorry, but that's just stupid imo. There will be a veteran CB or two cut and Idzik will sign one if necessary or trade a player or two if necessary, but I'd be shocked if he makes the panic move and trades away future high draft picks for a stop gap CB.

IMO the Jets have absolutely no realistic chance of going anywhere in the playoffs even if they do make it, and that's a big if. There's absolutely no way in hell the Jets could beat the Broncos, and they probably couldn't even beat the Chiefs, Bengals or Patriots. The Patriots' D is no longer soft. They completely manhandled the Panthers this past Friday night in all phases of the game.

I have to admit I was among those who fell under the fairy dust spell of one particular Chad Young highlight reel and imagined him blowing open holes for Johnson, Ivory and Powell at the line and second levels of defensive attack as well as being able to provide premium quality pass blocking protection for Smith in critical third and long situations. I had glorious visions of blitzing CBs and Safeties being knocked backwards and unconscious in their pursuit of our QB by Young's pancake speacials but alas, it seems it was just another dream. He didn't seem to register much of an impression during camp because he completely fell off my radar.
