this isn't the mlb. players are not traded between teams like cards. we won't trade vick, we won't call green bay and offer ellis for a cb and we won't be calling any other cb rich teams dangling draft picks or other bench players. that is all
I mentioned it in the Sanchez thread yesterday and i'll just throw it in here too, but I think Sanchez will be on the Rams in the next week or two. The Eagles look pretty good but need some more help on defense. The Rams are stockpiled with defensive players. The Eagles have two QB's that look outstanding right now. The Rams now desparately need a QB. Kelly has also already mentioned the possibility of fielding offers for Sanchez. The Jets can't afford to trade Vick though. Geno, although it looks unlikely right now, could fall flat on his face, or at the very least since he will run the ball 6 - 8 times per game they need an insurance policy. Foles is a stand back there and sling it type of guy with no injury history. The risk of him getting injured is much smaller.
and we could finally answer the "who sucks more thread sanchez or schottenheimer" i pray for this, but it is not going to happen
I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't it be funny to see Jets vs Rams SB? Not going happen, but would be funny.
I don't think so. Eagles have one of the best run D's. They just shut down the Steelers in the air too. They're not desperate. Unless they are super confident with Barkley then trading away Sanchez would be a desperate move IMO.
Trade Vick for Stedman Bailey and a late round pick. Geno won't struggle with Bailey on the field. Those two have been playing pitch and catch since the 7th grade.
It's really not that laughable. This Rams team has a ton of talent and it wouldn't hurt to see what they'd be willing to give up. We're talking about a 33 year old backup QB. Let's not pretend Vick is the future of the Jets, and if we're lucky, he won't play a single snap this season. Is it sensible to hold on to Vick just in case Geno gets hurt or plays poorly? Absolutely, but this team has plenty of holes that I'd gladly give up Vick to fill.
P.s. Hippy, good point by rappaport on TV right now; Rams signed Shaun Hill over Sanchez last off season. Why would they trade for sanchez to replace hill when they chose to sign hill instead of Sanchez in the first place.
were those two signings at about the same time? edit: upon a quick google search, they were both free agents at about the same time. the rams signed Hill a few days before the Eagles signed Sanchez. they didn't have to sign Hill if they thought Sanchez was better… but maybe that was an injury concern init of itself. After all Sanchez was still nursing his shoulder right? they probably wanted an arm for spring and weren't gonna wait on two QB's.
I think it's more likely that Sanchez gets traded to the Rams. He knows Schitty's system and it could be a very good fit. Isn't Clemens still over there as well? Talk about a blast from the past! It'll be like the old days for him. Hopefully they don't still have Wayne Hunter. It may be true that they chose Hill over him back then, but I don't think they expected Sanchez to tear it up like he has during the preseason.
Ya that'd be a pretty smart trade after all with Bradford the Rams were still the 4th best team in their division
