-Geno picked up from the end of last year (he's showed it in all preseason games, but today really proved it)

    -Vick is viable backup.

    -RB corp is BEAST

-Decker, Kerley, Amaro, Salas, Clyde are willing and able.

-Hill is wasting a spot (hopefully not taking Salas')

-O Line is starting to mesh/Good pass pro.

-D Line finally stepped up against shaky O line.

-Babin is good for a huge play for a very small percentage of snaps

    -Coples is mightily improving

-Kyle Wilson -_- needs to go

    -Walls is a viable starter

    -AA has great awareness

    -Our Punter Sucks. Bad.

For once I agree about Kyle Wilson. The idea of him starting as a 1 or 2 CB scares me. I'm okay with him in the slot but in no way do I want to see him on the outsides. It was so demeaning when he nearly got the interception and then got burned badly on the very next play. Walls looked pretty good. He made some good plays, but also got burned once or twice. We need Milliner back badly and I really hope Allen isn't hurt or concussed. The last thing the Jets need is more secondary injuries. Hopefully Walls will get that #2 spot. I feel he's earned it. Hill had his ups and downs. The oline looked decent enough. Coples looked really good and it's nice to see the D forcing more fumbles and getting a few near picks. Quigly had one good punt, and the rest were horrible. Special teams coverage was pretty bad as well. The running game is going to be scary this year and Geno looks 10 times more confident than he did last year at this point. The Jets might just have a viable team this year, if the secondary pans out or at least plays semi decent. The offense is definitely capable of putting points on the board and it was nice to see Amaro get a TD.

Wilson, I am still miffed we didn't pursue Flowers.

Hill, should have been converted to CB 2 weeks ago.

See, I think this is where Revis has spoiled some Jets fans. CBs are going to give up, especially in today's nfl. Walls played a fine game, showed good closong speed om the ball. The only pass he really gave up was when Eli sory of just tossed to ball up amd receiver went up and grabbed it.

    That's an interesting thought.....
Why can't a speedy WR be playing a corner? He can't learn all the D schemes, of course, but what if you give him something str8-forward to do: pick one deep-threat WR of opposing team and just shadow him. Hill's got speed and jump and as CB he wouldn't need to actually catch the ball -- just knock it down (God know he is good at THAT).
Is it too crazy to try?

Wilson must have nice feet. That can be the only explanation for him still being on this team.

The problem with Hill is that for all his athletic prowess he just isn't a football player. That's not going to change when he has to mirror another player's actions, pick the right moment and then make a move to deflect or intercept the pass.

Hill is to WR's what Vernon Gholston was to DE's. The difference between them is that catching a pass is a lot easier than getting a sack, so Hill has caught some passes in his career and would continue to if maintained on the roster.

    we need a punter

AA looks like he can be a legit cb. mostly basing this on the fact that he hasn't been picked on

salas needs to be on the team

    so does hakim

    hill does not

overall, feel pretty good about the offense.
the screen game is going to be lethal
the offense should have a good balance and we may hit on a lot of deep passes.

defensively, it might be a bend don't break until the secondary is back to full health.best case scenario is we will be forcing fg's and hopefuly scoring td's.

Hill is really good at reflecting balls, unfortunately can't catch, maybe special teams blocking punts would be more up his alley!

I thought shadowing one guy is more athletic (and less football player - like) thing to do thus giving Hill at least a chance to succeed. Instead of remembering all the routes and calls and CB's tendencies -- just run as close to AJ Green as you can and watch for the ball flying in your direction.

Maybe not Green, start against Gates first.

There is absolutely no way they're throwing Wilson overboard at this point. While his play is nowhere near what any person could've envisioned when he was drafted, he is what he is, and with ZERO depth at CB he will make it to the end of his contract with the Jets. Hill, gotta go. I am perfectly comfortable giving his roster spot to somebody else and gambling that he doesn't 'get it' with another team...

Awkward is awkward. Cro was a bit awkward but he'd been playing CB since high school and his athletic prowess and willingness to gamble made him a decent to great player depending on who he was matched up against and how banged up he was. He still got beat now and then but he made good plays a lot also.

Hill at CB would be a ongoing disaster area until the Jets shut it down.

Gotta make is quick, heading up to Syracuse to move my youngest in--now an empty nester for the year--so so sad.

Beautiful nite, pleasant weather, good crowd and a bit more tense than other preseason games. Not regular season tense but getting there.

Geno looked very very good, confident, stepped up into the pocket, looks comfortable and in control, made some beautiful throws and protected the ball.

Decker and Amaro are going to be a nice duo for us.

The running game is outstanding and combined with the D, I may have to change my 9-7 prediction, we're going to be in every game.

The online was exceptional, Geno wasn't getting touched and when he needed to he took off. Big year for Mangold.

Love the screen game. Seriously we have some stud RBs.

Best game I've ever seen Coples play.

Mo is incredibly strong, pushing guys all over the place.

    Antonio Allen Uggggh.

    That punter sucks moose cock.

Simms is a viable back up, but I have to admit I was wrong about Nassib, he's going to be a quality NFL starter someday. Has learned to put some air under his throws whilst at Cuse everything was on a rope, not giving receivers a chance to run under balls.

The Giants are going to be AWFUL this year, and that is a good thing.

Gotta go watch the tape tomorrow when I'm back.

for the first time since 2011 I'm very excited about this team. the offense showed alot of potential yesterday. Our running game is going to be very strong ... potentially dangerous. Geno does look very comfortable and he has some real weapons to work with.

barring major injury issues I think we're definitely in the playoff hunt and possibly challenging for the division.

I think 10 or 11 games wins the division this year. I think the Pats run is over. They may win the division but I strongly doubt they do it in a way that anybody expects them to win it again next year.

Geno - great pocket awareness, not forcing throws like last year, making multiple reads and very efficient. Starting to feel as confident about this position as I have in years.

Simms - he also looked good last night but torn on whether he deserves a roster spot. Didn't realize he was mocking Cruz with his dance last night

Amaro - I'm impressed. Wasn't a fan of the pick initially but I think he will be a big part of the intermediate offense. His hands have been great from what I've seen.

Chris Johnson - wow. Dangerous in space. Great cuts. Him and Ivory will wear down defenses.

Allen - this may be bold but he might be our best cover guy (even Millner). Hope he is not concussed and he's got great length and almost came away with a one handed pick.

Wilson - should never play a down. I don't care what magazine says he's a top slot corner. He's a liability. I hope Patterson gets healthy and wins this spot

Walls - great play last night and still think he deserves a shot on the outside. Yes he should have had a pick but so should Millner in the first game and Rex didn't critique Millner for that. This guy can run, find the ball and make plays.

Hill - he is not a receiver. Even on his reception he didn't look special and he should have used his body more on the slant defended by Cromartie.

Salas - I keep saying he can play. Hope he locked down a spot and he has sure hands

Gates - actually didn't look bad last night.

Babin - great hand placement abilities and has good rushing abilities

I agree about all the punter talk. Isn't there a second guy that was supposedly playing better in practice? Maybe they'll see what that guy has in the last ps game..
