So I have my first draft tonight.

    PPR = 0.5 points
    Passing TDs = 6

Everything else is relatively standard in the 12 team league. I'm praying Calvin Johnson falls, maybe Jimmy Graham. The big wrench in this is the passing touchdowns worth so much although I almost always take Cam Newton later in the draft.

Anyone got any advice? Is Marshawn worth it at 8? I'll note that running backs in my league go very fast.

Damn, just saw this. Who'd you end up choosing?

In the mocks, I've been passing on Marshawn in the first round.

I like the top 5 RBs (Shady, Charles, AP, Forte, Lacy). Then I like Megatron, Jimmy Graham and Demaryius. I also like Gio Bernard a lot because he catches passes and now that Marvin Jones isn't healthy, the Bengals Offense might lean on Gio more.

    QB - RG3/Rivers
    RB - Levon Bell
    RB - Ryan Matthews
    Flex - Reggio Bush
    WR - Brandon Marshall
    WR - Michael Floyd
    TE - Jimmy Graham
D/St - saints (but I use the waiver wire week to week to pickup defenses playing the worst offense)
    K- Mason Crosby

Bench is Reggio Wayne, Brian Hartline, Darren Sproles, Doug Baldwin, LeGarrette Blount, Rivers/RG3, Jeremy Kerley.

I feel like the team is very dependent on running back health. Especially for my top 2. I always wait on quarterbacks especially considering I got RG3 in like the 12th and Rivers in the 14th or 15th. Blount is an insurance policy on Bell and Reggio Bush was had in like the 7th because it was great value.

You might be able to flip one of your QBs for a top tier player at another position. Depends on how other teams stocked their QB position.

I'm going to take a look at trading one of my quarterbacks for a top player especially because they have the same bye week, week 10. I want to see them in action first before I decide who I want to ship out though, and of course how RG3's health holds up.

Yeah I forgot about RGIII and his health. I guess it would be risky to ship Rivers with RGIII. The other way, keeping Rivers and dealing RGIII to someone looking for a QB could lead to good returns.

Throwing TDs being 6 tones down the value of rushing QBs as Passing +Rushing Tds are now equal. I think I would pick up another RB. Your WR seems to be deep if the names perform as expected. You say Blount is your insurance policy, but I'm not a big fan of his. I think you could probably swing a better upgrade if you do look to deal RGIII. If not, I think your team is still a good team.

I have conflicting thoughts regarding trades after the Draft, before the Season. The ideal situation is to wait til the regular Season so that you have a more informed assessment of who to trade. But what I've done in the past (in both NFL & NBA Fantasy) is try to trade before the Season begins, just in case disaster strikes during the Season, via injury or poor performance etc. Obviously, there's much more risk involved with the latter, but it also eliminates the risk of being stuck with two guys throughout the year.

If I was in your shoes, I would put out some feelers for RGIII before the Season. I think Rivers will have a very solid year, as this will be his second year in that system and he'll more acclimated to his newer weapons (Keenan Allen, Woodhead, etc). RGIII has loads of potential, ESPECIALLY Fantasy potential with his ability to run. However, he's kind of reckless and possibly brittle. But if he stays healthy and progresses, then he's a huge payoff, especially if you chose him in the middle/later Rounds. So, you gotta ask yourself: Is it more likely that RGIII stays healthy, progresses and has a big year; or is it more likely that his struggles continue, while Rivers has a solid year?

In no way whatsoever am I trying to say my approach is correct. It's just some of the thought process that I have in these types of situations.

We determined our Draft order the other night (10 team league), and I wound up with the 1st pick. I've never had the 1st pick before, so I'm kinda nervous! I don't want to blow it (not blow the 1st pick, rather, just screw up my later selections from that spot), as I said, I've never chosen from the first position before.

So, obviously, I'm choosing Shady McCoy first. And then at the end of Round 2 and first pick of Round 3, I was thinking of choosing either Peyton, Brees, or Rogers. In the mocks I've done, 2 of those 3 have been there at the end of Round 2. And I figure any one of those Qbs + McCoy = about 40 points per week -- just those two alone.

My question is: Have any of you guys ever traded picks? I know it's allowed in our league, but no one's ever done it. So, I'm hoping anyone with some firsthand experience can explain to me the possible scenarios if I were to trade the 1st pick (or any pick for that matter).

I'd hate having 1st pick. I'd probably go Peterson, McCoy if PPR.

But at #8 with 6pt passing TDs you almost have to take Peyton Manning if he's available. The premier RBs will be off the board at that point, and your second pick won't be far away to add a RB or premium WR. EDIT, just saw you already drafted. Not a bad line up. Jimmy Graham will certainly be beasting.
