The nfl implemented a new rule last year about teams not changing helmets as part of their throwback unis. They can change decals but not the helmet itself. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ees-told-teams-not-to-wear-throwback-helmets/
This this this! I really like the helmet in my avatar. We're the Jets and it would be awesome having a fighter jet on our helmets. However, Ive also been told by a few people that they think that helmet is atrocious, so maybe a better design to appeal to most people would be better. It must be just me though because I think that helmet is badass!
46 years and no SB appearances. And you fans are concerned about how the team looks with new uniforms? LMFAO Just get the pigskin over the goal line and stop the other team from doing the same.
"The New York Wintergreens!!……with new head coach, R-r-r-rrichard Simmmonsss!!!" They suck. Everything looks good when you're a strapping 250 lb. chiseled LB. The big OL fatties up front and 'Snacks' would look like idiots in those 'Peppermint' getups. No need to change except: kill the green pants, get rid of the sweat stain belly panel, and have those 'rings' go all 360-degrees around on the jerseys.
http://www.footballasfootball.com/ny-jets?s=b522# The reimagined logo on this site it pretty cool. I'd like the white logo on Kelly green look.
Before last season I guess Woody responded to a fan directly that they were very much interested in bringing back the Kelly's as an alternate..the NFL put a halt on all alternate uni's last year due to safety issues w/ the helmets. They were not sanctioning any new alternate looks..Jets didn't really have many options. Are things different this year?Who knows.. Personally, I'm all for a uniform change. Obviously keep the primary colors but we've seen uniform changes catapult franchises after long droughts. Jets have developed a different persona under Rex & play in a new building. A change makes plenty of sense.
The 80's unis when you look at them closely are 'meh' even with the slinkier materials and crisper photography. THESE are the Jets - THESE are football uniforms:
This is better than the mint green bothin design and color. I Like this shade of green a lot better that our current green-black unis, and ive always liked this logo though i think this uni with a fighter jet themed logo (not sure what design) would be tits
Get that aqua blue /green shit outta here. I like our current look. Light Green plus white is perfect. I wouldn't mind adding some black, but I like this generation's colors the best. That shade of green is terrible.
NO BLACK. NO GREY. THATS EAGLES COLORS. GREEN AND WHITE ONLY. black for blacks sake is really annoying, monochrome can look beautiful if assorted correctly. If Nike ever got ahold of our unis, I would hope they kept it relatively simple, more like Vikings new look (awesome, different yet iconic) and less Bucs new uniform (whats with the awful number font?). The 68 uniform should become a throwback, doing so now is a wee bit pointless as the current jerseys are just slightly different colored modernizations of those jersey's but if there were a change having them might lessen any discomfort.
I thought nike was doing every team over slowly but surely, like a few teams per summer. I love the new helmets having that "matte" effect to them like Seattle, jax, & Minnesota. We'll get our turn soon
I think the uniforms are classic and great just how they are. Especially when they go all white with the road white jerseys, white pants and socks, but thats just my personal favorite. That was one of the best things Parcells did was bring back the classic Jets uniform. All these teams changing to flashy new jerseys will regret the look 10 years from now when the fad is over and they look silly. Some of the new ones look awful already. The best jerseys are the ones that are simple and classic. That's why they are so enduring and stand the test of time. Oakland, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Dallas, Chicago, Green Bay - they are all examples of great enduring uniforms that have stood the test of time. The Jets uniforms fit that bill.
