When they're not busy tellin' you to wear a seatbelt, they're telling folks when they can and can't cross train tracks. I mean, if the trains don't have to wait, why do we?
I have seen countless lives saved by seatbelts, but you do what you want, I really don't know how it's a money grab, they don't charge extra for seatbelts in a car. Oh and yes, motorcycles have them also.
Just so the rest of you know, not all of us Jets fans in Tennessee are morons. I wear my seatbelt in the car, and my helmet on my motorcycle. Although, as we are all Jets fans, we might all be brain damaged in some way or another.....

Are they not on public school buses by you? All the public school buses I remember have them and the ones in my area currently have them.
This was a fatal accident, he looks like he is falling asleep. I never noticed the point you highlited, guess I was shocked by him being thrown around like a rag doll. I think it was the Dale Earnhardt shirt he has on, gave him the confidence to drive with one hand at all times.

New York requires school buses manufactured for use in New York on and after July 1, 1987 to have seat belts and increased seat back padding on all passenger seats. It requires school buses scheduled for retrofitting to have these same modifications, but exempts certain older buses from this requirement and allows the motor vehicle commissioner to exempt certain others. However, New York allows individual school boards to determine whether their students must use the seat belts (N.Y. Veh. & Traf. ยง 383 (5) and N.Y. Educ. 3635-a (1)). According to Peter Mannella, executive director of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation, only about 35 of the state's 690 school districts require their students to use the belts.
We are just busting chops man, I do however believe that seat belts make a difference in a lot of accidents. I have seen some horrific accidents and seen people pop the door open and climb out. Obviously not everyone makes it out alive but that's not because the seat belts failed, decapitation or excessive trauma has killed people with their seatbelts on. But for the most part, I think seatbelts do make a difference, but hey to each their own.
