Yep, and even that obnoxious siren kinda fit the mood (certainly better than that lame P.C. Richards whistle).

Next day the NYT had a great picture on the "Sports Monday" first page with Sanchez going apeshit on the sidelines and the crowd behind him standing as one with raised fists and yelling (looking for that pix).

I was at this game ! First and only regular season game I've ever been to. It was Rex's first home game as the coach. Everyone was talking about how the jets left a message of Rex on all the season ticket holders phones telling everyone to get loud. (everyone in my section including the particularly funny group of bros was all like" everybody get the fuck up ! do it for rex ! THE PHONE CALL!!!with hands up to their ears in the shape of phone). The whole stadium was pretty much on their feet every time tom brady was on the field. I was sitting right behind the patriots bench so we got particularly nasty when the pats offense went 3 and out.

After the game was over everyone in the tunnels was yelling 'fuck tom brady' 'fuck wes welker' ect ect until we got done with all their players. 'Giselle is a slut' was another popular one. I even saw a little kid probably not much older than 5 on his dads shoulders yelling with us. The look of pure triumph and ferociousness on that little boys face I still remember vividly.

It was pretty much jets Mecca for me.

ps they don't do the air raid sirens anymore ??!?!?! that was awesome

Yeah they do. After that 2009 game the league stopped the Jets from doing it because apparently it was the same air raid siren tone that was used locally for natural disasters and such. A couple of years later, the NFL legalized the air raid siren and almost every team in the league was using it. Sucked.

Sorry Ed. I mean, I'm assuming you're Ed. No one else besides Ed should give a shit about Ed.

When they showed Fireman Ed on TV at least opposing fans looked at him as a semi normal.....I'm talking about compared to that tool they always show now. Our #1 fan. The drunk guy with the cape and the plane on his head. He looks like he pee'd himself.

Captain Jet. The last time I was at camp (2008) the guy jumped out from behind a tree to surprise me, wearing his full idiot garb. I wish I had actually hit him, but I ended up just walking past him.

Why do you think he's the only alternative?

Well for people saying they never want Fireman Ed back...what's your solution.

Would you want the Jets Chant scrapped? Who would you want to take over?

I get it. I would prefer it come naturally too (Captain Jet seems to have a lead on that), but it's kinda hard and could take a while before someone does. What if after a couple years...there is still no one doing it.

I don't get it. So many people are all over the guy but nobody has mentioned WHY? Is it really jealousy because the guy ended up scoring free tickets? Was there some evil underground plot that got him a free Sanchez jersey, maybe. Did the front office really think that getting him into a number six would turn the team around? Why do so many guys here have such venom for someone who never did anything to them? Or did they? Is there a whole litany of high crimes and misdemeanors committed by Anzalone we don't know about?

I've been to many games over the last 30 years,,,,,the best crowd up to 2009 was the day we beat Green Bay to win the division,,,,that day was awesome !
But the 2009 crowd against the Pats was the loudest i was ever at ! It never got quiet the place was rocking start to finish !

He got the crowd fired up with that chant man. There was nothing like it when we were playing well.
