Goddamn. This 2nd preseason game can't come any sooner. This is getting ridiculous. It feels like I'm at a housewives that hate their husbands convention.

If its not a high ankle sprain as douchebag Cimini conjectures, why would it take 3-4 weeks to heal? A low ankle sprain heals much faster than 3-4 weeks.

High ankle sprain is speculation based on what was seen. Until there is an mri they really don't know the severity. The fact that he is not in the boot around the clock is very encouraging though

This unfortunate injury has shed some new light on the Jet's fan base attitude towards the team.. Not all but many.

I would like to point out how unbelievable fickle Jet fans are. Entering the 2014 draft, 95% of all the draft threads at TTG literally despised the notion of even considering using the first draft pick on a CB. The popular cry was, "all we do is draft CB while the offense goes to shit" or "if we draft another CB on the first I'll quit this team, etc, etc, etc" or "we have not gotten a #1 WR since Keyshawn nor a top Safety since time memorial" "it's time to change gears"

Oh what a difference an injury to a back up CB makes to some Jet fans. Now the same bunch clamor for more CBs, and the Dennard and /o DRC discussion is back in full force.

First of Dennard s very good, no question, but Pryor is a superior player and at the time a higher need for us.
Further, its not like Idzik did not try to get us a real starter thru free agency, but the top two available chose to go to "win ready now " teams and it was not just a money issue. After that it became an issue of overpaying for middle of the road talent and our GM chose wisely against it. As for DRC, not overpaying for a guy that is not close to playing at the #1/#2 level and a far cry from a shut down corner was pretty damned smart on Idzik's part.

I'll go out on a limb and say, when is all well and done we are going to be better at CB than last year, and far more efficient defensively.

Then perhaps we can focus on our biggest challenge by far , do we have a QB for the long haul or not?
The question ought not be do we have the CBs that can handle Brady, Rodgers and the like but rather when in God's green earth will we have our own version of a top tier QB.

Good post LAJet! However, there is nothing wrong with criticizing Idzik's handling of the CB position. It was an issue before any injuries. The injuries just made fans think about it more. As for QB, we definitely don't know what the Jets have yet. Hope for the best out of Geno though.

Cumberland/Amaro/Sudfeld should be fine going forward.

Just as I am not giving up on Amaro for camp, I'm also not riding Sudfeld's nuts because of it.

Sasquatch did well in the off-season for the Pats last year, really well, and did nothing for them during the regular season.

We could end up having some real options at TE, but right now our most accomplished player at the position is Cumberland.

    Cross your fingers.

TE is our deepest position on the team by far. RB 2nd deepest position.

DL is the deepest position, followed by RB, followed by safety.

    TE is a distant 4th.

Good job LAJ. And another thing about Dennard: you'll remember one area of concern going into the draft was his "clutchy-grabby" hands-on style of play which some thought would translate to drawing flags in the NFL, especially since we've heard the NFL's gonna be cracking down on the hand fighting between CBs and WRs this year. Hell it even happened last year to Michigan State's aggressive secondary (including Dennard) as they were flagged left & right during their loss at Notre Dame. Is this year's "hands off" advisory maybe one of the reasons he's not (yet) starting?

We'll see, but in the meantime, I like the idea of a safety with an expanded 'jurisdiction' to include lurking in the secondary as well as blitzing the QB with bad intentions.

LMAO Amaro has looked horrible so far and admitted to his head spinning, Sudfeld is an unknown, and Cumberland is OK he isn't anything special......we might have players at the TE position but who knows if it going to pan out for us

of our three TEs, Cumberland is the one I would least like to see go to a team with a QB like Rogers. Cumberland has the size, speed and hands to become a made man. Or a made TE as the case may be. He'd probably be in the top 5 within 2 seasons.

I like our TEs, but more so as a collective group. No TE we have is a burner (and doesn't need to be).

I like things that Cumby does but I saw him do so bad stuff last year. Some easy drops and I remember him stepping out on 3rd down right before the 1st down marker when he easily could have got it (vs. Patriots at home).

Amaro is coming along. I think as the season progresses he will only get better.

Sudfeld is a nice pairing with Cumberland and provides a different type of target. A larger target that is difficult for safeties to defend.
