Yeah, that's been on my list, I'm a huge Richard Linklater fan.

Cadillac Man was an interesting but lesser known Robin Williams movie. Not a "great" movie, but I think it's worth seeing.

Just saw the trailer for this and am considering renting. Visually, it looks incredible.

I saw Stoker last night. Another movie that is great visually. Awesome transitions. And Clint Mansell does the score, which is great. The movie itself is pretty good, but those things are what really stood out to me.

Stoker was one bizarre movie. Enjoyable in that creepy sort of way.

I don't know if you like oldies but this was pretty cool for its time ("Metropolis" 1927)

I really wanted to hate this movie but it was very well done, everyone should watch this once.

Well it's close to 3 hours long. I'm only 15 minutes into it, hopefully I can finish it tonight.

Looking through my harddrive for some you may not have seen before

    Mud
    Blue Jasmine
    End of Watch
    Beasts of the Southern Wild
Enough Said (Julia Louis Dreyfus and James Gandolfini have great chemistry in this one)
    Fruitvale Station
    Source Code
    Jiro Dreams of Sushi (documentary)
Short Term 12 (this one's pretty depressing but Brie Larson is great in it)
Warrior (probably my favorite on this list)
    Juwanna Mann (close second :D)

I loved Snowpiercer btw. It had a great style to it. It would've been a major release but apparently Harvey Weinstein demanded about 30 minutes get cut and the director refused.

I'd be happy to provide further description on any of these movies. Just didn't want to write a novel of a post. Happy viewing!

Blue Jasmine is horrid. Fruitvale Station is highly over rated.

Yup, Mud is the 21st century version of Stand By Me.

MM was great. The dude can act.

Mud us a very good movie, but I wouldn't rank it anywhere near Stand By Me.

Of course not, I wasn't ranking Mud, just that it reminded me a lot of SBM.

I haven't read through this entire thread, so maybe these were discussed already...

The Place Beyond the Pines is an intense movie. It's long, but it kept me on edge.

Another Earth is a movie I saw within the past year. It still sticks out in my mind. I think it's in the SciFi genre, but it's less SciFi than human drama.

London is a movie starring Chris Evans, Jessica Biel, and Jason Stratham(sp?). It's a "love story," but presented in an interesting way. Basically, a few people blow a bunch of coke in the bathroom at a party, which triggers various conversations about philosophical & psychological concepts, as well as self-reflection.

Liked it, didn't love it. Two things, I had just seen Drive so two films where Goslings dialogue was minimal at best kind of got on my nerves. I like him as an actor but not the same role back-to-back.

And I couldn't STAND the AJ character as the teenager. So over-the-top it really took away from the film for me.

Almost two films in one so for that I give them credit.

Yeah it was slow. That ending was worth it, though.

Was AJ the one who looked like a freakin Gorilla (Bradley Cooper's son)? If so, then yeah, his character's mannerisms and accent were ridiculous.

Haven't seen Drive. But I'm pretty sure I like every movie Gosling has been in. What's his role in Drive?
