Pro football focus has come out with the offensive and defensive rankings.

I love it. I don't think the offense is gonna be stellar, but it's gonna be way above 31st lmao.

Pro Football Focus is the best website out there in my opinion for grading players on their performances. But it's almost impossible to make predictions on how a team will perform, the best you can do is probably ballpark it.

Nobody knows for sure how Geno will progress, nobody knows what the receivers will do. So I never give these preseason rankings much thought..

Id predict we'd be in the 20s in terms of offense if were talking about total points scored. Maybe between 23rd-26th.

I have a hard time believing teams like Oakland, Houston, Minnesota and probably even Cleveland and Buffalo will score more points. Plus a couple teams usually disappoint along the way.

People can kill our offense all they want but last season the Jets scored only 4 less points then the "hall of fame QB" led Giants.

We were 4th to last in 2013. Only Jacksonville, Houston and Tampa were worse. But I dont think another season of Geno, or even Vick if Geno bombs, plus the offensive upgrades we made will make us go from 29th to 31st.

Marcus Mariota would look really good in another shade of green...

Obviously it's a case of media bias against the Jets..

i like the jags offense on paper.. Blackmon ( i know.. i know) Marquese Lee & Cecil Shorts have alot more upside than us. I think us and them are both being undderatted here. 15th defense... should be a little higher just because we got the best 3-4 d-line ive seen in recent memory from any team in a while.

Haters gonna hate though.. Just another chip on rex's shoulder.. (Rex always eats the chips)

Well we really haven't had an offense since the latter part of the 2011 season. And so there's also the residual Mark/Tebow no-TDs until the very end of pre-season (by 3rd stringer McElroni) offense followed by a boring 2012, the Sanchez injury screwup and Geno's bottom ranking last year. Until the Jets prove otherwise, it is what it is. Just get the W's……oh god, we're going up against that string of QBs!!!:D

The Jags have some decent name recognition at WR. Blackmon is a headcase though, Lee has already gotten in their head coaches dog house, and Shorts is very injury prone.

It's not popular in NFL circles but guys like Nelson and Kerley are very solid WR's. They wont be making any Pro Bowls most likely but you know what your gonna get with guys like that. Sometimes being boring and predictable is better than the unknown.

None of this bothers me at all. That's why they play the games.

I thought no CBs, the cornerstone of RR defense and so there is no chance Jets defend shit against the stellar lineup of top QBs and WRs.. How are Jets 15th in D?
Someone quickly tell ledger82 that the sky might not be falling after all

It's not bias, it's a website that makes their money analyzing regular season stats trying to get hits during a period where there are no regular season stats to analyze. It's about as worthless as every other site doing power rankings.

Yup. If their power rankings were reliable, they'd use them to get rich gambling.

If they think of some magical power rankings, odds are Vegas is using something similar. Kind of like how Vegas projections are usually very close to football outsiders projections. Usually where it differs greatly is something the straight model can't catch like players coming from injuries and what not.

I think our defense will finish in the top 10 it all depends on the cb situation if we end up in the top 5.If the offense really finishs 31st we won't be in the playoffs. We really need to be in the top 20 this year.Pre season Rankings mean nothing to me anyway its all bullshit

I could see 15th and 31st for last year's team, but with the additions on offense, I just don't understand how we didn't improve at all according to them. PFF over analyzes things. I'm not the biggest fan. Some of their stuff is good, but their evaluation of our Oline last year was just flat out dumb. What stats did these guys analyze to come of with these numbers. I wonder.

Yeah, I don't see how adding Decker, CJ, and Vick, and not having a rookie QB anymore, translates into us declining from 29th to 31st.

Honestly Vick ,CJ,and Decker and Amaro sound great on paper but it isn't enough to convince the non belivers

Is that how they are making their numbers? Based off the one preseason game this year or is it an average of all the players stats last year and/or their career stats?
