Yeah I intended on watching it, I started watching it, and then I fell asleep while Foles was still in. Sanchez just has to keep doing what he did last night and his trade value will rise. I firmly believe he will start somewhere next season. And also the pass he threw to the TE last night reminded me of his play in USC, it was quick, smart, and spot on. I really wish we had gotten to see Sanchez back in the WCO but this offense Kelly brings is definately going be a plus if he can get a great understanding of it. (as in knowing what play is next, getting to the line quickly, etc)
How fitting would it be if Sanchez rolled his Eagles team into Metlife stadium week 17 and knocked the Giants out, clinch a playoff berth, and silence all of his trolls and haters from both NY fan bases. Believe.
His throw down the middle to Ertz was a beauty, he was decisive in his reads, his 18 yarder to Ertz looked like his 3rd or 4th option and the drives he led were impressive. Good for him. _
I said the same thing, it reminded me of him in USC. Its good that he is finally with someone who seems to know something about offense. I still believe he can become one of the best QBs in the league, he has the body, the skillset, the attributes, etc, just couldnt put it all together for a variety of reasons (poor Oline, poor recievers, bad coordinators, and just mental struggles). Right now he is under the least amount of pressure he has been in since high school probably.
Seam was always Sanchez best pass and Ertz was wide open. Still good to see him land on his feet. Foles looked surprisingly bad in the game
See im a Foles supporter, I thought he was the man for the job when Reid was still there. I was pleasantly happy when he took the job last year and ran away with it, but when push comes to shove I hope Sanchez gets the job, which likely requires Foles struggling.
This ^^^^^^^^ By the time he left the Jets he had no confidence left. A QB in his 20's with 4 road playoff wins would tend to want to be a starter. At the very least, you would think his competitive nature would want to try to start. I think being a maligned QB in NY cut his sack off which we saw in 2012. Can't see him bouncing back. It's one thing to look good in the preseason on a team where he knows he won't be starting, as opposed to being the starting QB with all the pressure on him.
I definitely understand what you're saying. It wasn't all ESPN...I just think ESPN tried to make it worse. I never thought Sanchez was a great QB...that's not what I am trying to say. I am saying that he was never developed right and never had the weapons around him to succeed because he could never be a great QB that makes weapons. I was surprised too whenever his throws weren't picked off every play because I never liked how he fit in the Jets offense. We never got to see him in MM offense, but at least in his first 4 years...this team wasn't for him. I don't think he's changed in philly...I think he just his surroundings changed. Of course, he only played 1 preseason game with the 2nd team...
Well I have a confession to make, I know a lot of you think I am from Newburgh NY, but I am actually from the Gold Coast and I am an Australian.
I believe Dora said it best, "There's a grumpy old troll who lives under the bridge"............down under.
The Eagles lost Bill Lazor to the fin's...this will hurt more than most think. Watch the fin's first team offensive series of fridays game...
It wont happen because Idzik has to rationalize spending a #2 on Eugene. Give Simms 16 NFL games to develop and he will make tremendous strides, just like Eugene did. Problem is, Eugene was God Awful and his development will be miniscule at best. I really saw nothing much different from last year's 'final 4 games' which so many on here use as a measuring stick of his 'progression'. Smith will progress this year, how can he not. 1st preseason game was pretty inconclusive of his 'development'. He played 2 series. Even, if Eugene is 10 times better than last year as Vick proclaimed, which was all political correctness IMO, he would still be a mediocre QB in this league. Sanchez was horrible in his tenure as Jets QB and STILL led the team to back to back AFC Championship games. Smith might lead this team to a few playoffs but that would be the result of the defense as it was in the past. I believe Simms has a greater upside. He's a big kid and has a much stronger arm, can make all the throws and has a tough pocket presence. He just needs experience and a top flight QB coach.
You already have your mind made up. Anything short if an absurd year for Geno and you probably still won't be sold. If Geno played like Simms on Thursday you would've killed him. Yet if Simms played like Geno you'd praise him. You clearly have an agenda.
