Hard to have a breakout year at back up QB but then again Foles is not having the greatest of camps so far.
You are right. Foles will be starter no matter what. Kelly put his reputation on the line by getting rid of Vick. I always thought that if Sanchez had the proper coaching, he could be a good QB.
Geno held his own. No turnovers. At least a couple first downs. If people are still crying for Matt Simms...I don't know what to tell them. Some people don't realize how much different you can play with 3rd stringers.
A team whose returning QB went 8-2 while throwing 27 TDs to just 2 INTs thought Sanchez could help their QB group but we're so set at the position that anything short of Joe Montana is pointless. Got it. Based on this news maybe I need to be more excited about this upcoming season than I am.
I see the best version of Mark Sanchez being Big Ben/Eli Manning. I don't think I ever saw him ever consistently playing well enough to be a Rodgers, Brees type or even a Matt Ryan. At his best, he would be a QB who you couldn't focus the whole team around, but could be an important piece on a winning team. I guess Flacco is a good comparison in that sense.
I agree. Geno us horrible. Two bad idzicks competition mantra doesn't apply to guys he's drafted. Sent from my Lumia using Tapatalk
It's not impossible people are hung up on the offenses we face this year. But those teams have shaky pass defenses (Packers, Bears, Lions, Chargers, Broncos) we contained 3 good offenses last year (Falcons, Saints, Pats) so why can't they contain those teams?
ESPN made him out to be the worst QB of all time. Mark Sanchez in reality was a less than average QB who had potential to be a decent QB with weapons around him. He didn't fit with the Jets... ...because ESPN tried to make him look so bad...people will be surprised when he doesn't throw an INT every drive in preseason.
To be fair, as a huge Sanchez supporter, in 2012 even I was surprised when he threw a pass and it wasn't picked off. It wasn't all ESPN. He looks like a much different player now, albeit in limited action. _
