Saying Geno needs to progress therefore he must start the 2014 season is total bull shit.

5 years from now if Geno is our QB he'd be a better QB having spent 8-10 games watching and learning from Michael Vick.

Even if Vick and Geno are evenly matched on talent, Vick would still be the clear choice just based on his thousands of hours of experience and years in MM's WCO.

Vick gives us the best shot a getting through the tough part of our schedule.

After the bye, Geno comes in and takes over while Vick goes on IR.

They stalled out in the redzone and if the game meant anything at all, they would've kicked a FG.

I think as Jet fans we need to ignore it.

I meant to say before, Geno had as many positive plays as Vick but probably had less negative plays. His only bad play-and it was pretty bad- was the attempted throw away to the sideline. Pretty much every other play was a positive, even the throw into the ground.

Unless you are a diehard Jet fan that watched this game meticulously, Geno didn't lead a big TD drive, Vick had an OMG run and led a long TD drive.

    Forget the criticism.

or his confidence could go to complete shit and regresses to the point where he can't even complete 5 passes in a game.

This is such a bad idea. If Geno was not the answer we were better off getting Teddy Bridgewater then.

You know Syracuse stopped down Teddy a couple years back.

Getting beat out can either cause Geno to tank or cause Geno to dig deeper and become a better QB. I'd bet on the latter.

But why not start Vick to win our lion's share of our tough games, setting us up for a PO run, then bring Geno in for the 2nd half of the season to continue his 'development'?

    Makes sense to me.

No I can't agree with that. We need to see what we have in Geno. He should get another year to prove himself. Vick is only here to mentor Geno and give us a vet QB in case Geno regresses.

Are you fucking insane? I was there in the Dome. The dude threw for 450 yards on 75% completion rate, 3 TDs.

It's why I love the dude.

Go look up your boy Geno's stats against my alma mater.

    Not so much.

The problem with this is if Vick injured, Jets have no viable backup QB.

These things don't happen, what if Vick is healthy would you start Geno then? If the kid has potential, you have to see what he's got to offer in a tough game or easy game.

Putting him on the bench for half a season does nothing for Geno's progression. I see where you are coming from, but in the real world - I don't think this will work out in our favor.

I don't know about that. Rogers and Brady spent a combined 5 years 'on the bench' and both of those guys seemed to have progressed pretty far.

Rodgers learned behind Favre, Brady was forced into action. Even so, these guys didn't start from the get-go, it's a completely different scenario.

Either way we're looking for a QB for next year...in the meantime, give me Vick
