I don't remember actually WANTING Jordan White before we took him--had never really seen him play--but after we took him I remember being thrilled with the pick after I did a little research. And I kept waiting for him to break out but we literally got nothing out of him. _
I always used to bet the MAC games on ESPN on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and White and Eric Page from Toledo would put up these insane numbers. White was a really good WR in college. Maybe a lot of it had to do with the offense he played in but he looked to have all the skills necessary to play in the NFL. I remember liking that draft a lot more because of White, Ganaway and Antonio Allen then Coples and Hill.
I think this post might be too logical for this forum. You might want to take it down before someone puts a hit out on you for ruining their fantasyland bullshit.
Sucks we couldn't trade up and grab this guy - I still believe he will be the best receiver of this draft. I would have taken him at 18. Starting to look like none of our drafted receivers will be making plays this season other then Amaro who is a TE. Hopefully Saunders can provide some speed.
Thanks for bump! So how's the dirty dozen doing? I kind of shut it down after the draft and just getting back in the fold.
Couple of dudes here think it's ok to knock the shit out of small women if they diss you. Not MMA chicks or polar bears, mind you. _
Oh yeah Chritians are bad and threads about dumps are verboten. Also Nazis are under attack so when I said verboten I meant forbidden. _
One WR who it appears I was wrong about is the big kid (Kelvin Benjamin) from FSU. All the news out of Panthers camp has been that he has a great work ethic, has been catching everything and looking very, very good. Newton and he look to have a great chemistry already. One who it's starting to look like I may be right about is Jace Amaro. He's having problems learning the offense and is struggling mightily. For all our sakes, I hope he's wrong and turns it around, but it may be late in the season or next year before we start getting anything (if then) out of this kid.
Be careful this board is turning into North Korea with Idzik being our Kim Jong-un. We must not question our supreme leader.
I'm not questioning Idzik at this point, but even if I were, I'm not worried about how some on here react. I realize there are people here that don't have the civility, maturity or intelligence to discuss or debate something civilly and rationally when they disagree. Instead, they try to shout you down and shut you up with personal attacks. I already have many of those types on ignore. If there gets to be too many of that type, I'll simply stop reading and posting here. Life's too short to put up with with those types.
More boom than bust so far, apparently: www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9321/kelvin-benjamin It was only preseason, but his TD catch in the end zone last week was a thing of beauty. He had gotten his feet tangled and was falling down to the ground and still managed to get low and haul it in. For a team that was pathetic in the red zone last year and often could not even sniff it, I bet Idzik -- amazingly -- didn't even consider him. After the draft he said Pryor, was "quite honestly, an easy choice, when we saw he was still on the board." Idzik has no need for conventional playmakers. His idea of a playmaker is Clyde Gates.
Don't forget, that every great GM has a team of advisors telling him who/how to draft. Well we all know that Rex wanted Boyd, who else did he like?? Bradway, the scouts and the whole Jets FO had their own grading system and wind is.....MEH. Meanwhile, players like Garappolo go to the Pats!! So we build through the draft with the most unintelligent decisions on players and we get a mind blowing 8-8 team ...
On the positive, the Jets are a much improved team with Vick et al. and while Geno is no P Manning he has a smorgasbord of talent to win games. The draft is misleading especially since that we have seen but one preseason game and even if they hardly play you can say Saunders and Evans have potential squared just because you believe that not SEE that.....yet. Unfortunately, Amaro is having a bad camp and is unfocused. McDougle of course is injured so who knows and Pryor, the known enforcer, got his bell rung. Let's wait and see.
